Addon that shows which way enemy is facing?

I’m wondering if there is an Addon that might paint a little more visibility on the screen for which way an enemy is facing? I mean, if I’m just in a solo 1v1 PVE battle it’s kind of obvious, but when I’m doing a dungeon and everyone is huddled around one target that’s fairly small, it can get a little bit guessy.

I just mark the tank and try to position myself away from that tank mark when he is tanking a certain mob, in case it does a cleave or cone effect or whatever. For example the elite guards early in siege who do their big ‘heavy slash’ frontal cone AOE. Sometimes a mob will temporarily turn away to face a particular player when casting something but that is typically a targeted ability that should not have any ground-based cleave effect.

Don’t think there is something like that. If you’re in a group though, it’s always good to have a mark on the tank so you know where they are in relation to you. Then just assume for most cases that they are targeting the tank. This isn’t always the case, but most of the time is should be sufficient.

If this was ever possible, it would have been early in Wrath of the Lich King. The success of a raid assistance addon (AVR) which painted cues and markers into the view field made Blizzard alter APIs so that this kind of addon became impossible. (In patch 3.3.5.)

This was so far back, the announcement isn’t available any more in a WoW forum. (This was in the first-generation forum, which Blizzard deleted after transitioning to the second-generation forum around the time of Cataclysm.)

So no, it’s probably impossible now, and if it isn’t, there’s ample precedent for Blizzard making it impossible. Blizzard forbids any mod that draws into the playfield, and has promised to go to great lengths to break any such mod.
