Especially with the new raid… I’m spending more of my time looking at DBM timers, alerts, HUDs, class ability alerts etc then actually “playing the game”.
I’m not saying kill DBM or WA… but perhaps pull back the total reliance on them ? It’s becoming un-fun to me.
Does anyone else think this should be tweaked?

Nothing says you have to use those addons.
You realize RTS players look at their mini map every second? If not multiple times per second? And they do it all without addons telling them how to play the game.
Use the reflexes/adaptations you were born with.
So you think it’s lagging the game performance? Well,every time it needs an upgrade I get dc’d and thank god I’m not in a dungeon or raid but you do see it with the big rares when your in a group. Guess what no DBN or such.
You can say “just don’t use them”, but the WoW devs have said they balance the game around them and every raiding guild worth their weight requires them. So “not using them” isn’t really an option.
I’ve been watching videos of the boss fights. They’re complex, but not that complex that you should be focusing solely on those addons. This sounds more like a you issue.
Watch the fights, learn the dance, the addons will become secondary in the back of your mind.
Also: learn your class and the rotations and cooldowns won’t need a crutch like an addon.
Literally nowhere was this the subject of the conversation.
If you’re being overly distracted by those things, you probably don’t have them set up right.

(or you just do what I do and run with scissors and so many add ons that you can barely see the screen).

Yeah, tell your guild/raid leader you don’t want to use addons and let me know how well that goes over lol.
My daughter was visiting… took one look at my screen and all the add ons and just gave me this sideways look and said “Maaaa!”

Training wheels are really ugly and lame, can’t believe we are forced to used them forever.
If only we could take them off yet still ride.
I use basically dbm, gtfo, and elvui. Ye really don’t need many add-ons at all really. Much more of a choice too have them, only one that really helps is dbm.
