Addon Manager

I know this thread has been made a dozen times, but I think it’s safe to say WoWUp is no longer functional. I can’t access any curseforge addons, and there’s scarce support/updates for WoWUp hosted addons.

What addon managers do you guys use? I really don’t want to install overwolf, but between manually updating everything and installing it I might have to. Please save me.

I switched back to the CurseForge Client (the alpha that doesn’t require Overwolf) for everything on CF.

Sweet, thanks! I just tried the standalone and it looks like it’ll do fine. Guess I’ll just use Curseforge for CF addons, and keep WoWUP for things like elvui.

Incorrect.

It still works for quite a few addons.

However, the standalone Curseforge DOES contain more and doesn’t require Overwolf in any way, which is good.

WoWUp can reach addons that don’t pass CurseForge’s rather strict (overly strict) policies.

I can both obtain and update ElvUI, for instance, there.

If something is available on WoWUP, I use that. If not, I use CurseForge (alpha) without the Overwolf nonsense.

This sounds like the way to go.

I’m in the same boat, but I’m still hesitant to use CurseForge even without the Overwolf garbage. Has anyone looked into it to make sure it’s actually safe and free of any Overwolf-like code that does things you don’t want it to? I just want an addon updater that won’t go peeking around at anything other than my Wow/Addons folders.

I can’t speak to the code, but it seems pretty lightweight. I just plan to open it once a week, update all, and exit.
