Addon isnt showing addons

They are in my file directory
/program 86/wow/retail/interface/addon
When I go to character screen select, AddOn tab isn’t there.
When I enter game, no addon tab available.

Are you unzipping the mods into the folder?

Alternatively it could be looking for your mods in a different folder then your install, though that is usually because of custom installs.

Ive done it every way possible.
Ive unzipped into folder, saved in separate folder, unzipped in same separate folder and moved it manually from separate folder to AddOn folder.
The mod/mods stay in the Addon folder and are still visibly in there. But once at character select screen and once in game, there is no addon tab to be found.
Makes absolutely no sense

Are you maybe in the wrong place? On the Blizzard launcher with WoW tab selected, go to the “Options” drop down and choose “Show in Explorer”. Navigate from there to your addons folder. Is it the same location?

Now that was something I havnt tried but as my luck would have it, no luck.
In the “show in Explorer” mode, the addon is in the folder, but once in game, nothing, not even the red Addon tab.
It feels like its just not looking in the right spot or something is checked somewhere, either pc or game, who knows, and is preventing from loadin the mods in the first place. No idea. Just stupidly aggravating.
Ive been working on this for months and months. Not every day or anything but a lot more than I normally work on crap like this.
I would love to use the addons everyone has, but for some damn reason it just will not load them.
I bet im going to have to download the game and reinstall plus patch. Let me check my schedule and see if I have 3 days to spare for that LOL.

Re-downloading won’t fix an issue with the Interface folder (edit to add - most of the time… never say never with tech)… certain things hang around even after you uninstall (the nature of software).

You might take this up in the tech forum, or maybe even the addons/UI forum, to see if someone can point you in the right direction. I can only think of two things… you have two installs of WoW, and it’s pointing to the wrong one; or your folders are somehow ‘protected’ and running as admin is the only way to get it to work.

Having you do the Explorer thing was an attempt to make sure your WoW was pointed in the right direction, but outside that, I’m more of a hands-on techie and not so good at forum IT directions.

Just to be clear… your addon folder should have a sub-folder containing each addon and not just the data files all in the parent addon folder

To expand upon what @Nok just posted:

Here is an example of what he is referring to – below are screenshots of my WoW installation (it is on my SSD drive) – 1st one shows how all my addons look in the Wow folder & the 2nd one shows how an addon itself shows its file structure.

Grab the Twitch Client. It’ll install them to the correct location and automate updating them.
