Addon Channel Spamming - it's against TOS

There are different addons that do that sort of thing and I exaggarated a tiny bit but I also have at least 3 ppl on ignore for using those addons so I don’t even see all that is posted.

Yes, bc there’s not much else in the chat that will be more useful than information that gives coords and health. That helps make prioritizing what you do next easier.

If it bothers you, you can create a new chat window, turn off Gen in your main and turn it on in the new chat, or just turn it off.

I sort of like OP suggestion, then general can be for real people and addon channel could be for addons.

Real people saying what though? I’m genuinely curious what you expect to be said in general.

There’s big difference between information that provides actionable content like Rare coords health and enlargement ads that are 99.9% likely to be fraudulent.

So… you ignored some people and… why is that an issue?

I ignore people all the time. It’s what the function is for. That’s the legitimate reason for it, to block people who engage in behaviors you don’t like. That is the solution.

The thing is that “real people” either don’t talk, or they’re doing exactly what the addon is doing.

I’m fairly convinced that would just be happier if all the same stuff was happening but it wasn’t uniform and looked like people had actually typed it. Which… I’m sure the addons could be made to look like real people had typed it.

The definition for spam as being useful to SOMEONE was being used. I don’t think that is a good definition because it is important that that communication is wanted as well.

I never looked into enlargement adds in any detail so I would have to take your word for them being 99% fraudulent as well. Just curious how you arrived at that 99% number as well - survey maybe ?

You never asked for commercials on TV but they’re not spam. Spam is a specific kind of thing, and your desire to see something is weighed against its value and utility before it can be declared spam.

I am not interested in ignoring those people - I am interested in ignoring the addon spam.

Spam is defined as undesirable content for everyone.

It’s antisocial and hateful. How dare these people help other people find rares. How dare they try to help their fellow man. Each rare should instead be blown up the second it spawns so nobody else can get it.

Making a separate channel is hateful. Omg have you let blizzard know that. We have trade chat and general chat already - how did all that hatefulness happen.

Because not everybody uses these addons, so having them in general chat helps everyone. Except selfish people who seem to hate the idea of cooperation of any kind.

Not everybody uses these addons and you know it.

so what - are you going to have a real conversation now or keep on full troll mode - please let me know my breakfast is cooking.

I am attempting to have a real conversation here. But your selfish attitude is making it difficult to make any sort of progress. You seem to think that people helping others is something that needs to be restricted and hidden away.

You are projecting, there is nothing selfish in my attitude. And you claiming there is continually tells me you are just trolling.

How am I projecting selfishness when I’m trying to protect sharing information? You’re just spouting words and accusing other people of your own faults. So that would mean that you’re the one projecting things here.

Now do you have anything coherent and constructive to add to this conversation or are you going to keep derailing it?

How is having another channel going to hurt anyone ? Please explain because I see nothing selfish in there.

Not everybody will even know about this channel. And splitting up communication even more helps no one. The only reason to be for this change is if you don’t want people to help other people.
