Anyone know what it means when the game hits you with the pop up “Addon blocked due to something only available to the Blizzard UI.”
It was happening with my bag addon constantly, better bags. All my addons are updated, and nothing else seems to be affected. It was while I was trying to use a vantus rune.
I have no idea or rather I think I do but I could be wrong so I’ll keep quiet, my track record is spotty here lately.
Anyway just wanted to say your avatar looks wicked cool, those purple glasses just pop. and those little wings are just awesome looking. I’m going to find them and make a succubus. ![]()
try to unistall the latest addon you installed then download it again maybe?
Some addon you have is using a function, named constant, or similar that is now a reserved name only accessible to Blizzard’s private API.
Keep looking for updates for you bags management addon. Disable it for now to verify the error msg goes away (if the error still persists, then some other addon is the culprit).
You will have to be more specific with regards to the message.
For starters, is it actually naming a specific addon (what is the name if it is), does the error open with “Force taint strong,” is the addon’s name being displayed as multiple asterisk?
The BROAD answer is that Blizzard routinely changes lua-stuff between patches.

So, it will also help to know when you started noticing the error.
It’s called a protected function. Blizzard uses them when they want to remove functionality from an addon usually due to a change in design policy. There is no fix you can make for it. The addon maker needs to remove reference to the function or scrap the addon entirely.
I haven’t downloaded any in years, so I don’t even know which that would be, lol.
That’s quite literally all I get too, but it was in reference to my attempt to use a Vantus Rune from my bag. The only addon for my bags I have is BetterBags.
