Fortified. Tyrannical. Uhhhh, (insert name here).
Adding a 3rd weekly affix that’s in par with fortified and tyrannical would be an amazing idea. I don’t know why they won’t replace tyrannical but adding a 3rd weekly affix would be A HUGE CHANGE. Maybe this certain tier 1 affix will be a push week based on the other affixes, it could be a challenge, and it could be fun seeing different strats in the mdi. Maybe blizzard is afraid of making changes like these because the community may not approve of it. It’s been tyrannical/fortified for a while now and I doubt the community would be opposed of this decision unless they made a really, really bad affix.

sadly last tier teaches us it’s a stupid “players lose 25% max hp” or “Players lose 25% dps” lameola.
As tyr buffs bosses, Fort buffs trash makes sense for another affix to do the same but diff. A simple +1 or 2 effective key level for keys that week but no fort/tyr so all mobs scale equally by that level. As such would swing from boss week to trash week to balanced week.
Otherwise a week that removes tyr/fort but makes all other affixes twice as difficult (other than the seasonal). Meaning necrotic all mobs apply 2 stacks at once, spiteful two shades on death, storming two storms so forth. This would be interesting as some affixes would be quite painfull, while others would be still non affixes eg isp having twice as many mobs blocking CC wont change much or sang making pools heal at twice the rate would be minor as you should not be letting them heal anyways. While this makes mainly trash worse which honestly is better than making bosses worse as seen by the tyr hate, While still having some effect to bosses. Some affixes may req tuning to not be twice like the other affixes eg bolstering being twice as much might be to much but if properly splitting damage even twice as much is not bad esp as woulden’t have fort/tyr to make up for the extra time spent on the affix.
Remove tyrannical and fort.
Add a new affix called fortifying - Mobs place good and bad zones on teh floor. Bad zones deal 10% hp per second. Good zones increase 1% hp per second and 10% damage increase.
