Good news, they can dual wield two of those! Not two categories, just two specific weapons! Reasons!
Weapon skill didnât add much, was just a chore you had to do.
Cost me an Arena match too, but thatâs another story.
They canât dual equip weapons, even though the feral artifact weapon displays as two daggers and the guardian as two fist weapons. There are no agility offhands (found one in classic, but only one and very low level), so ferals and guardians must use 2H weapons.
Stat sticks that require more competition for weapons?
Nah weâre good dawg
Melee weapon was just a stat stick. I donât miss it.
It was ⌠a thing, I guess. And probably a thing thatâs fine to leave back in the past.
Itâs probably still a thing on those Classic servers that are perma-vanilla.
I think they originally limited it because every time there was a roll for gear or weapons. Everybody would need on everything simply because they could use it. Now, if they canât use it, they canât need on it which means it should be going to the class who can utilize it. I could see this working if they ever brought back personal loot.
donât add these back
Yes, definitely. I want to be a Dark Ranger who can switch to melee.
It was kind of neat when my rogue could pull stuff with a rifle and/or do reasonable damage with it.
I wouldnât mind more transmog opportunities to cross over weapon types, but not actual farmed skills.
Weapon skills were an insanely redundant skill, all they did was add a ~10-20 minute grind where you auto-attacked one of those invulnerable mobs near the Dark Portal before you could actually use a weapon.
Expanding what weapon TYPES classes can use would be nice. Would lead to a reduced amount of weapon waste. But letting Rogues/Warriors use guns/bows or (non-SV) Hunters using swords is pointless, just causes additional loot drama when youâve got a class that massive benefit from an upgrade (cause weapon damage) and one uses it simply as a stat stick.
Reasonable? Nah, it was completely garbage and really only useful for pulling stuff and stomping totems from far away.
Warriors Heroic Throw fulfills the same niche. Pretty sure Rogues have a similar version.
Not a fan. I donât miss competing as a hunter with other classes for stat sticks. Especially when it was weapons that other classes actually used to DPS so Iâd invariably only get a shot at the weapon after classes that actually used it all got theirs.
I donât want to expand the number of items I have to upgrade and enchant.
Decent damage was never coming from manual shots. Every class has a ranged option (all both of them) to pull. Heroic throw and taunt on warriors, shuriken/pistol/poison knife on rogue. Itâd be a genuinely worthless change
