You basically do have the option though. You can buy the gold via tokens. OP’s complaint is that he has to wait a month in order to buy enough tokens to earn enough gold (via tokens) for the Brutosuar. He was saying that a month was too long to wait to buy 5mil worth of gold with real money.

My point was that 1 month to get 5mil is an incredibly short amount of time to earn 5mil from any source. I’d be surprised if anyone could earn that much in a single month without the tokens.

I am not saying 5mil is easily earned in a month (or easily earned at all). What I am saying is that it seems silly to complain that a month is too long of a wait in order to buy 5mil gold worth of tokens.

And while I personally wouldn’t care if they did add it to the shop for a ridiculous amount of money, your “value you their time” comment is very condescending and unnecessary. If you rather do something different with your time than earn in game gold, I don’t blame you. However, things like the AH mount or Spider mount are there as rewards for people who do enjoy earning gold in wow. If you cant or dont want to spend the time to earn the gold then you don’t get the reward. Exactly like any other content. I’d love to have some of the pvp mounts however I don’t enjoy the stress that comes with rated pvp so i dont get the rewards from it. If it’s something rewarding to you and you enjoy it then it’s not time wasted. If the requirements aren’t worth the reward then it would be time wasted so don’t bother with it.

Also there’s no reason that earning the 5mil gold should be done in 1 month. As you as I stated in my post my 5mil definitely took longer than that. In fact 4mil of it had been saving since WoD and Legion for something else entirely. The final mil took a month itself and the only reason i was able to even earn that much that quick was because it was launch and someone else taught me how to make a lot with Darkmoon Cards. I definitely couldn’t earn that much that fast currently.

The only reason the 1 month thing is even being mentioned is because OP said that’s how long he’d have to wait to get enough tokens because there’s a like a 10 token per week cap or something.

Hey what’s the Dock Hearthstone? Is that the same as Garrison? Or the ring from honorbound medals?

The dock Hearthstone is separate. You get it by doing this achievement:

It is 50 Naval missions. If you have accidentally deleted, a GM may be able to restore it for you! They did for me. I was pleased.

a month is way too long… that’s the point you’re not getting… there should not be any restrictions on token acquisition. but if there are, then there needs to be viable workarounds, such as making expensive gold items on the store.

Not even sure why you are even attempting to disagree with the OP. Just because you don’t see the point or value, or think it’s a waste to spend real money on a game, while another person doesn’t… then you should keep it to yourself, as your opinion doesn’t help those who have the cash to flex and/or those who value time more than money.

imho, Blizzard should have different token options, rather than just solely a $20 token, should also have a $50 and $100 token, for those who need larger amounts of gold so individuals such as the OP doesn’t run into the issue of the token cap… that or they should put expensive in-game items on the shop as an alternative for those who are not willing or able to grind out gold in-game.

Either one Blizzard chooses, it’s a benefit for all. Players will get all the gold that they need or could ever want… and Blizzard and Activision gets to take more money from these players who have money to burn on pointless intangible/virtual items that have no real value.

Also, SW cloaks are super cheap and the tower is a 20 second flight to the AH.

Hearth back or a short flight to the tower again.

I understand the convenience of always having it, and the need for gold sinks for folks to spend money on. I could never justify $800 on a mount.

If someone is willing to pay $800 for a mount “unless there a millionaire” They have bigger issues in there live than a game… its very sad to me that anyone could be so driven by a game to waste $800 on a mount.

I made around 20 million gold during legion alone & no way in hell would I spend 5 million on a single mount…

There are only a few things that cost a lot.

AH Mount.

The spider mount.

The 3 mounts sold by players, on the auction house, that might hit one or two million (x51-nether rocket, whooly rhino.)

This is utterly ridiculous. The mount is there to be a gold sink. People that have millions and millions to waste can buy it if they wish (usually the people that constantly play the AH). It is not designed for everyone. I am sure there are people who can throw away 800 dollars like its nothing and that’s their right but I do not think Blizzard should be encouraging it by actually listing a mount in the shop for any large amount of money.

And the mount has been available for about ten or eleven months now. So you’ve had time to buy your tokens ten times over.

you also realize you can get it free by using the AH to make $$.

the majority of ppl with it are that kind…not kind who waste hundreds of $ on it.

I bought one when I got to Boralus,the first day they were available.It was the only one on our server for months.I have no idea how anyone who played Legion would not have had the gold.I am pretty lazy now,I pay for 3 subs a month for me and family,and have around 7 million gold,plus a lot of stock in the AH.Things are pretty slow,but when the new patch drops,get out and farm the new herbs and ore and sell it.
