With the release of phase 2 on November 12th, the WPvP community have developed a rivalry with the opposing faction. I’m not against cross realm BG queues, given it minimizes queue times across all realms.
My suggestion would be to add “same server” option directly under “first available” to the selection. This will satisfy the player base who are against cross realm BGs, the option to settle the beef in a fair 10v10 / 40v40 battleground match.
Server specific discord’s can already coordinate for example WSG 60 as the designated server BG, but you still risk a player from a different realm joining the game.
Adding the option wouldn’t impair any gameplay, but only give the players the option to compete against the players they have encountered during WPvP. I’m sure a large majority of players would not be opposed to the idea.

This I would welcome.
I remember the days before xrealm bg’s were a thing. The PvP community was a real thing, you got to know people for their skills. Xrealm makes rank titles meaningless.

In my opinion, this is what made vanilla so memorable. Regardless of the over whelming odds in WPvP, it was always fun camping groups who camped you in the past.

There’s a sad truth to that
While I would love this, I don’t think it will happen because it makes the concept of win-trading a lot easier. “Hey, just queue server-specific queue at 3:00 AM with your guild. You guys win one, then we will”
Think how premades are getting into AV together via discord callouts; it would be the same in this situation except with win-trading across factions.
