Add Option to remove un-important spell effects

Learn where other games are doing well (dragon riding was stolen from GW2 so why not?) and add FF14’s hide spell effect. In this age of gigantic pulls and non-stop AOE or high member raids/pvp it’s becoming increasingly difficult to tell what the hell is going on in a fight and part of it is immense and excessive spell effects. Don’t get me wrong. It’s COOL to see your own, but I really don’t care about random Mage’s flamestrike, numerous hunter pets derping at the boss, etc. It makes absolutely zero sense to not allow a hide spell effects. Why should anyone have to muddle through countless layers of blue, red, and green to see bad swirlies and healing AOEs? It gets messy in some raid fights and mythics that it’s literally incomprehensible to know what’s even damaging me without other add-ons also adding clutter to my UI.

While we’re add it let us shrink ally models or add collision detections. Playing a “small” class feels like a handicap in melee as long as these changes exist.

Anyone aware of anything that can help absolve this issue? Does color blind mode accentuate important effects?

Have you set spell density to “Essential - only show essential spells”? It helps quite a bit. It’s in the system graphics options.

ETA: There’s also an option to highlight your character in combat. I forget where it is. It helps quite a bit to pick out your character when the camera is zoomed out.

Blizzard hates player choosing things.

I’d set textures and spell effects to minimum for other players and environment, and would keep mine above since my character is the one that matters.

Thanks for the heads up! That sounds pretty handy. I’ll have to check next time I log in because I do find myself getting lost in a mob. One of the reasons I like AOE attacks. Lets me know I hit the target even if I’m not facing the right direction. lol

I’d imagine if you can model hack then you can also texture hack but since that’s against the rules I of course could never suggest it to someone.

I think that one might be in combat options.

I love how healing is mostly nondirectional. It would be stupidly hard to raid heal on the run otherwise.
