Add-on question

tried to download a quest helper add on from curse, made sure that it was for classic. But there is no menu button for add-ons at the sign on screen. Is there a special trick to install add-ons?

You likely added it incorrectly.

How to Install WoW Addons

  1. Exit World of Warcraft completely.
  2. Download the addon you want to install .
  3. Extract the file – commonly known as ‘unzipping’ – Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
  4. Verify your WoW Installation Path. …
  5. Move to the Addon folder. …
  6. Start World of Warcraft .
  7. Make sure AddOns are installed.

Interface > Addons also.

The path for Classic that you want to install into is:

World of Warcraft (wherever this is on your computer, some common locations are c:\Program Files or c:\Program Files (x86) ) THEN - _classic_\Interface\Addons

Let the unzip program create a folder with the name of the addon in that folder. You don’t need to unzip one file at a time, that would be…wild. I’m thinking that the poster above probably meant one addon at a time.

Once it’s in the right folder the game should automatically detect that it’s installed the next time you start the game.

Alternately, you can download the Twitch client and add, update and manage addons for your games through that. Personally I find that easier to deal with, I’ve got 166 live and 25 classic addons and tracking each one to update would be a nightmare.

thank you all. I have it working the way I like it now.

the game just wanted to avoid that you install a questhelper addon. it just wanted to help you!

I’m glad you updated us 24 days later on your situation.

I’m sad that you’re only level 16 with that quest helper addon.

Are you suffering from altoholism? If you need someone to talk to I’m here for you little buddy.

Life happened. Sorry.
