I don’t raid, but I do a sub 1,000 keys per tier across all toons. I don’t raid. I don’t do storymode. I just farm mogs occasionally and do keys.
Would be neat to get new void weapons appearances somehow outside of the raid.
Keep mythic stuff out, sure.
Join a heroic pug or two late in the season, you can clear it in an hour.
this is not one idea i can get behind, gotta do the content to get the appearances.
They’ve already made it super easy by the fact you can get the next appearance up by upgrading it too, so in reality you can just do LFR and heroic and end up with all 4 appearances.
Yeah i think ive only done LFR and i have up to heroic on some characters - With the catalyst charges and other event stuff happening.
I would agree but what makes the weapon appearances different from the rest of the gear?
I’m going to have the complete dk n pally set from lfr-mythic without getting one piece from any raid or stepping in anything higher than lfr. I didn’t have to do the content to get any of those appearances, just delves and vault.
Can grab them from LFR. If you spam keys honestly it’ll be a piece of cake and there’s no mechanics.
While you can get the tier set for your class from the catalyst (which is great, even i love it), you can get other classes tier pieces from the raid still. I can get the DK pants for example from mug’zee to use on warrior / paladin. (not the full set mind you).
It also makes them feel a little more special when you get them, imagine every smuch running around with the mythic version of the weapon that drops off the last boss week 1, before the last boss is even killed on heroic. Wouldn’t feel so special then would it.
Eventually the raids become easier and even soloable, so its not like you are going to miss out. Let them be a little special for a little while.
I don’t think I ever see anyone with non-mogged gear.
Gear appearances is a purely aesthetic choice at this point.
This is no R14 back from 2004.
Isn’t this ask solved by just going back at some point down the road and soloing stuff? You don’t get it while it’s current but if that mattered you could do the content while it is current.

But nothing is stopping me, or anyone else for that matter, to throw something into their suggestion box.
If you have raid rep, you can buy cosmetic weapon appearances from a vendor in the raid. If you don’t have raid rep, you can run LFR to get it and buy weapon appearances all the way through Mythic.

I did that just by running LFR for raid rep and buying the cosmetic appearance.
Run LFR, you can AFK at this point, get your account rep up high enough and you can get 2 fake cartel chips to use to buy weapon mogs from the raid.
You can actually get higher tier appearances from lower tier content by putting in enough upgrades to the equipment (usually when you push it past the halfway mark).
It’s how I have an almost complete mythic set on my warrior despite hardly doing any raiding with them.
Beyond that if you can get your galagio rep high enough you can actually get up to two weapon appearances from the raid and said rep extends across your entire account so in theory you could get every mog.
Nah fam. If you want the appearances go earn them.

Raid and do the content or wait for it to be legacy loot.

But they are on a vendor the way OP wants. It just doesn’t seem he knew that.
