Add Heroic Naxx for WotLK

This time around for Naxx is different. Only around ~1% of players cleared Naxx in vanilla while the majority of raiders in our guild (~75%) did a harder version of Naxx in classic wow. A heroic version of Naxx would give us something interesting to do before Ulduar.
Not sure how to balance it though. Providing better rewards would make the following phases easier; providing weaker gear for normal would make it harder for returning players or new raiders to clear current and future content.

I’m honestly fine with it being the way it normally is.

The first teir of raiding being easier is not, in my opinion, a bad thing, generally lets people try out classes, get a bit of gear, see if they are going to enjoy the class they have, or if they want to try something else.

Having the content be mellow allows people to find their sweet spot before going into harder content.

Some people are try hards and will only follow whatever the meta is, there’s no helping that, there’s also no helping the people that decide to stack whatevers meta to clear content in a flash then complain they have nothing to do.

AFAIR, Naxx isn’t the only raid available at the launch of Wrath either, but it seems to be the only one anyone ever talks about.

Correct sir. There was also Obsidian Sanctum and Eye of Eternity but those were single encounter raids ala Onyxia so they don’t get as much buzz as Naxxramas. They’ll likely have to do something to freshen things up since the first time around, as was pointed out, a very small fraction of the playerbase really got to enjoy Naxxramas so it was semi-fresh for the majority when it was revamped for WotLK. This time around, that isn’t the case.

If they add hardmodes for Naxx that would be pretty cool. Optional harder difficulties for some extra loot would fit the style and design for wotlk.

I don’t mind the intro raids being lower difficulty. My concern is that a majority of our raiders just did this content for several months and now they’re going to do an easier version for several more months. I hope we’re able to keep the raid engaged with the content.

Sounds like something more suited for a Wotlk Season of Mastery. Leave Wotlk alone its fine as it is.

multi level per tier gear was actually one of the worst things ever done because of the insane gear gaps it creates.

Hard modes; sure i’m all for it but better or different gear? Kill it with fire!

now if they gave re- color gear and achievements; that is cool

You’re saying that you want harder raids, and you’d also like a reward of better gear.
Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of the harder content? Just use the original gear, and add some sort of vanity reward you can show off.

Honestly, I think the raids are fine, there are achievements to go for. Adding Mythic Wrath dungeons would be cool though. I absolutely loved Wrath dungeons. The art and the mechanics were amazing but most were a bit under-tuned. Halls of Reflections and Pits of Saron were tuned just right.

Its going to be just like TBC. There is a perfect raid comp meta, and that will restrict your ability to play different classes.

Conform to your GMs need for the perfect raid comp for insanely easy naxx or find a new guild.

Well I mean.

My guild refuses to chase metas, and our of our favorite jokes is laughing about “oh no, my parses” when something bad happens.

We’ve downed every bit of content without much of a hitch, and without needing to go full meta.

Some people just want to squeeze all the challenge out of something and make it easy as heck, then complain that there is no difficulty. :woman_shrugging:

Yes give us harder raids. Its not like half the guilds fell apart because of KT and Vashj prenerf

Halls of Reflection and Oculus, the dungeons you queue into and then wait to see who will stick.

Some folks just can’t stand their cheese without a bit of whine…

So y’all baddies can have your story mode and normal players can enjoy a slight challenge.

I killed them prenerf multiple times. But I also was on the US forums and all 3 EU forums at the time seeing these cry posts about them being too hard and guilds disbanding daily.

I personally am not interested in chasing challenges in MMO’s when it comes to group settings. I am not someone who can be perfect and do every raid fight correctly that I haven’t done before out of the gate and because of this it makes the social barrier in the MMO rough as some groups do not accept this and get upset when you mess up.

Compare this to Elden Ring, a game that I have recently completed. I died a lot yet I have killed most of the bosses in the game, even the pain in the butt Melania. Becacause it was a solo game I could try and try to my hearts content until I beat the content.

Difficulty isn’t why I don’t like to do group content in this game anymore. It is more I don’t like putting up with the social drama that goes on with groups. I understand that I will fail on my journey to beat the content. I do it so I can pick myself up and learn from my mistakes. And I also understand that in the world of WoW that failure is frowned upon and you are thrown to the side so someone who knows what they are doing can take your place. It isn’t something I like to deal with anymore or spend the time finding groups/guilds that try their best not to create cultures like that.

There isn’t really room in the itemization to add an entire new tier of loot… So a harder version of naxx would have to be harder for the sake of being harder, and I doubt the playerbase would actually engage in it, without incentive. Path of least resistance is a pretty real thing for a playerbase.

There are, however, various achievement challenges that can be done that add a wrinkle to boss fights. I don’t remember if Naxx had a meta achievement that was worth anything (I remember ulduar had proto drakes and I think it was ICC that had frostwyrms), but I do remember Naxx at least had “Immortal/Undying” titles to attempt for.

Okay well these forums are 95% PvE server bad kids.

They do not equal the majority of players.
