Alright so I think it’d be nice if they added duel spec since I’m going to play druid pvp, but i still want to raid, but !@$# me right #nochanges woo and stuff
So question to all the veterans on here, is there a cap on the cost of changing your spec?
I wouldn’t mind a system that SAVED spec builds that you created through the talent tree, but no, there is no dual spec in 1.12 and honestly it doesn’t really need it.
Worth noting that the amount it costs to reset your talents diminishes over time, so if you go awhile between talent resets, the price starts to lower. I don’t know the diminishing rate though.
Also worth noting; there weren’t specs in Vanilla in the traditional sense. There were builds. Sure, there were different talent trees, but you are never locked into any of them. If you wanted to reallocate your talents and make a different build, you had to spend gold to reset them. It’s not like you picked a specialization, then had talents specific to that specialization.
For me, part of the charm of Vanilla is making tough choices and sticking to them.
And that is typical logic of someone who has railed against classic for over a year. I also play a priest there genius. I pvp as shadow and raid as power infusion.
You and OP want everything handed to you, don’t want to actually have to go out of your way to do anything and seriously arent the target audience for Classic. You should be happy with retail since it has all of the components of the game you like.
Like the classic dev said, go play b4a. OP also has 0 posts so this is probably a troll.
Your hybrid class is not supposed to be able to switch freely between multiple roles. Having to go to a capital city and pay a not insignificant amount of gold to respec is the price you pay for the ABILITY to change from a healer to a dps to a tank.
Even non-hybrids have different specs for PVP.
If you want to have a druid, for example, that heals in PVP, but tanks in PVE, and you don’t want to pay to respec, do what people who want to play a warrior in PVP, but want to heal in PVE do. Roll two characters. Leveling in WoW is not hard, especially after your first level 60.
Having to pay 100g to go from raiding spec, to pvp spec, and back again is not a flaw in the system, it’s the entire point of the system.
World of Warcraft was a role playing game, not an action game, changing specs wasn’t meant to be as easy as switching from Mercy to Gengi
Right, which is why blizzard should have done a better job balancing specs in vanilla. They chose not to. Ironically now that specs are much better balanced we also have easy respecs, go figure…
Of course they were. Just not balanced in the way they’re balanced by today’s standards. Vanilla is an rpg, not a raid simulator. Again, that’s an adjustment players will have to make.
And this is all moot anyway. Blizzard has flat out said they’re not rebalancing anything. The devs at least understand the importance of authenticity.
There’s a difference between reminding people how badly balanced classes were and that if you played a hybrid you would only be using 1/3 of your class(healing) and asking for class balance
