I’m pretty sure that cockroachs (a generic term that covers like 50ish species) have to scale the fastest acceleration of any living animal.
Like any successful creature, we hate them for their ability to exploit us. Most roach species want nothing to do with human settlements, and some of them are really beautiful. Emerald Roaches for example. Very pretty.

I honestly don’t know why I, and seemingly 98% of people, have such a visceral reaction to them. I’m saying that as someone that … you know… likes spiders and things other insects have their various charm; but like most people, I will INSTANTLY StampStampRevolution on a roach.
And it’s not because they’re “exploiting” me? lol wtf? And of course they want EVERYTHING to do with human settlements, because it’s easy food.
All that aside, it’s a very curious thing to me how much humans innately HATE roaches. Their coloration? I don’t know what it is. Because pretty much all their other characteristics are shared by some other insect … that doesn’t bother me AT ALL.
But roaches?? Disgusting and getting STOMPED!
