Add account wide reputations

Bad take imo

Agree to disagree.

Ok Mr Community man

No problem hunter shaman person, have a nice day

Not very community council of you to not listen to the community (IE we’ve been screaming about how bad the rep system was before mop even came out and they didn’t little to remedy the situation besides maybe making some stuff revered instead whooopie)

I don’t have to agree with everyone on the forums, listening is not the same as agreeing. If you wanted to have a further discussion I’m open to it but that doesn’t seem the way you wanted it.

I actually think I’m gonna put you on ignore. Vibes are off. Shouldn’t be community council imo. Classic ‘you should feel this way bc I do’ and not enough ‘is that how a good amount of players feel?’

If the majority always decided what to do then we wouldn’t have classic. But feel free to ignore me as I don’t see this discussion being done in good faith.

It won’t be in good faith bc you’re looking to argue and I’m looking to state how a large portion of classic MoP players feel about rep. We aren’t the same. This is how some of us feel and if you wanna whine about us saying something then go do it in your free time.

Yea right, again have a nice day.

I used the statement ‘isn’t a good argument’ because that is quite literally what you’re doing. You’re trying to argue. Your argument isn’t good, and you’re not doing to in good faith. Have a great evening, stupid. Your response just proved my point. Low intellect Rage bait trolling is the fall-back when all other attempts to delegitimize my opinions don’t work.

You choose to play another character, that choice has consequences. These include leveling, leveling professions, gaining reputation and unlocking transmogs. If you don’t want the fault, don’t play an alt.

are you not aware of the commendations?

they basically already did what you asked

all rep available instantly instead of being gated behind other reps, commendations on day 1, honored to spend valor

old system: 2 reps to revered before u can open the other two, no commendations, revered to spend valor, klaxxi rep quest took 4 times as long (20 shards instead of 5) and the guolai halls chests didn’t exist for golden lotus

you screamed, they answered, you didn’t notice, you screamed again appears to be the timeline

you could get past klaxxi revered from just doing the dread wastes zone on an alt, same applies to shadopan, boom, 10k valor can be spent without doing a single daily

Classic MoP should never have account-wide reputations because a big part of the expansion’s identity was tied to each character building their own progress, unlocking storylines, gear, and rewards through effort that felt personal and earned; making reputations account-wide would strip away that sense of individuality, undermine the time investment that gave reputations value, and ultimately flatten the gameplay into a checklist where alts bypass the meaningful journey that was originally designed to be part of the core Classic experience.

Nah, not until it’s made warbound on Retail.

Classic is a meme, let it die as one.

Classic WoW thrives because it appeals to nostalgia and a sense of authenticity that retail WoW can’t replicate. Players are drawn to the slower, more deliberate pace, the meaningful social interactions, and the sense of accomplishment that comes from genuinely earning progress. This emotional attachment and desire to relive—or finally experience properly—the “old ways” of WoW creates a loyal, passionate playerbase that’s less likely to abandon the game for newer trends.

The community-driven nature of Classic WoW also contributes to its longevity. Guilds, raids, and server economies are tightly knit and rely heavily on player cooperation. Unlike retail WoW, which often prioritizes convenience and instant gratification, Classic encourages collaboration, strategy, and persistence. These social bonds make the game sticky; players aren’t just logging in for content—they’re logging in to maintain friendships and participate in a living, evolving world.

Finally, Classic WoW’s design emphasizes progression and challenge in a way that retail often dilutes. Every level, reputation grind, and dungeon requires effort and planning, giving players a sense of purpose and investment that retail’s constant stream of expansions and power boosts can undermine. This enduring structure ensures that Classic WoW remains relevant and rewarding, making it likely to survive and thrive long after retail WoW’s novelty fades.

Stop it, you silly bot.

I’m not a bot you retail noob.

That’s what a bot would say. Bot.

Retail WoW is built on a model of constant expansion releases and power creep, which can lead to player burnout. With frequent content patches, ever-increasing character power, and streamlined progression, the game risks feeling shallow over time. Many players eventually grow tired of the rapid cycle, leaving the game once the sense of accomplishment diminishes, whereas Classic WoW’s slower, more meaningful progression keeps players invested for longer periods.

The social fabric in retail WoW is also weaker compared to Classic. With conveniences like LFR, dungeon finders, and fast leveling, players can bypass community interaction, reducing the need for guilds and cooperation. This diminishes the sense of connection that makes MMO worlds feel alive, and without strong social bonds, players are more likely to drift away, unlike in Classic WoW, where collaboration is essential and fosters long-term loyalty.

Finally, retail WoW’s constant reworking of systems, mechanics, and expansions can alienate long-term fans. Changes that prioritize accessibility or convenience often remove the challenges and depth that initially drew players in. Classic WoW, by contrast, preserves the original experience, keeping nostalgia, challenge, and community intact. This consistency appeals to dedicated players, giving Classic a stronger chance at longevity while retail faces a gradual decline as its identity becomes diluted.
