Add a toggle to remove skyward ascent from double tap!

Please add a toggle to remove skyward ascent from space bar entirely. It’s a button, let me bind it instead of accidentally flying off when I’m walking over rough terrain and trying to jump.

Also, add a glide button to start gliding.

It’s bound to Jump, which is spacebar by default. If you make some other key your Jump key, then spacebar will not trigger skyward ascent.

Not exactly a fix, but could be a work-around. A true fix would have skyward ascent (and all the dragon motions) as independent key-bind entries (i.e., not tied to an existing action like jump).

Is there any way to rebind a jump action via macro to space? I’m thinking you could bind the Jump action to an out of the way bind and macro some kind of Jump to space bar, but I’m not sure macros have that kind of ability.

As best I know, you can only map a macro to a visible action bar button. Action-Bar-1 typically has hot-keys 1, 2, 3, … 0, -, =. Aside from those hard-keybinds for Action-Bar-1 I don’t think you can arbitrarily map a macro to a key-bind.

Maybe someone more knowledgeable on macros will confirm or provided a solution you’re asking for.

Is it that hard to not double press space bar when you want to jump? I’ve not actually had an incident where I wanted to jump and accidentally flew off, bc you have to press space bar twice if you are on the ground to activate skyward ascent.

I have nerve damage in my hand that causes me to accidentally press space bar twice. This is an accessibility problem

I see. Have you tried putting skyward ascent on a different keybind? I haven’t tried moving them beyond swapping around their placement on the hotbar.

Even with a hard bound skyward ascent it still flings me upward since it is essentially tied to “double jump” with no way to unbind it that I’ve been able to discover.

Oh, well that sucks. All spells and abilities should have the ability to be freely keybound and unbound as needed.

Carry on with your request my wayward son.

That would completely defeat the purpose of what the OP is asking for. The whole reason anyone would want to unbind ‘Skyward Ascent’ from ‘Jump’ is so that they can jump while on their dragon without being launched into the sky.

I wish it was possible to do this as well, it’s easy to accidentally press jump twice and sometimes it launches me even if I only press jump once.
