So I am not sure who else has encountered this as of late. But I wish they would add some sort of player feedback or penalty system for those people who like to leave keys early or join keys purely with the goal of leaving once it starts to grief and troll people.
In the last probably 4 weeks in one week alone I have had numerous players leave the key as soon as I started it (once we load in after the key before the first pull takes place). Then I get players who complain about random things and instead of discussing it they just rage quit and leave. I just had a player leave a key after proceeding to tell a hunter how to play their class (after that player just died to standing in crap) then proceeded to flame everyone and rage quit. It would be nice if they added some sort of deserter penalty (that they get for leaving a key before its complete) that prevents someone from using the LFG option for keys but can still do keys if its a friends group or a guild group or something. Of course this is just spit balling but couldnt hurt to add something like that. Or even add a “vote to break key” option that way if the key isnt going the way everyone wants instead of people rage quitting you can vote to end the key and part ways to avoid anyone getting that penalty.
Just to add clarity to this, I am not asking for something crazy more or less for a system that already exists in other avenues (BGs, LFR, Random dungeons and various other things like that). I mean if you aren’t one of the players that acts like that then I do not see the issue with adding it.
May I ask, to what end? What do you want to be done with this kind of feedback?
I get that you encounter crappy teammates from time to time, and leavers can really screw things up, but I am not sure that they are actually violating any rules.
Not quite sure how i would be the common denominator when a warlock rage quit after a hunter didnt pop hero after flaming said hunter. let alone people who joined just to break keys
and here we go again. But sure let’s add player feedback that other players can see. That way I can say
“dont know how to interrupt”
“DPS is so bad healer beat him overall”
“Died to every avoidable mechanics”
I mean what is the point of having everyone agree to a social contract then them blatantly violating it (Flaming other players in the group, purposely joining, leaving as the key starts saying “im not wasting my time in here”, or just in general being toxic players and leaving when a wipe happens without saying anything). If it was a once in a blue moon kind of thing that would be different but it seems to be a pretty common occurrence regardless of what toon I am playing on.
When I say feedback more or less I mean it flags them for violating said social contract with toxic behavior as well as if it happens within a certain period of time it bars them from joining any groups via the group finder option.
The vote to end key option I feel would help kind of weed those players out because leaving prior to the vote would result in you getting the timer debuff as well as being flagged on the back end for it.
I mean I have been doing keys since legion but never have run into this many issues with players. I mean this week alone I have seen people being toxic via game chat or just straight leaving a key calling people scrubs etc. that probably happened at least 5 times this week. Let alone the previous weeks where it seemed like they were doing it just to do it. I mean I get I am only just one person and not everyone has encountered it but doesnt mean it doesnt happen to others and they just kind of sit there and say “oh well”
So if they are doing things that are violating the rules, such as being toxic in chat and flaming others, there are definitely tools to report those players.
I am saying that with no context, simply leaving a m+ is not breaking the rules as far as I know.
I am not saying that you aren’t experiencing what you are experiencing, but my personal experience isn’t the same. I have had a leaver and had to 4 man a m+ twice since I started tanking m+ on my main. I do not experience back to back toxicity like you describe.
I mean one would assume that as well however everyone I do keys with that actually stays including random people have a great time and we all just chill and have fun. And it has happened whether it was my key or someone else’s key so I do not believe that to be the case.
And yet here you are complaining about people leaving your key all week this week when in reality this week is 1 of the easier week we have on the rotation
EDIT: But I will agree w/ you let’s add a feedback so people can see. Coz I’m sick of inviting carries who’s clueless in the dungeon. I like to know who teh bad players are so I dont invite them to my keys
Bob has to leave the raid early because it was time he applied lotions to scruffies skin so he does not bite and scratch at it. Last time Bob did that his other pets was licking scruffies wounds and would get angry if you moved them away,
Lisa had to leave because Housewives was just starting on TV and
Larry dared not miss GasMonkey tv show reruns.
I did indicate that “In the last probably 4 weeks in one week alone” of course thats just a rough estimate. This week is an easy week and when the keys actually complete its a smooth run but the fact that in higher keys if a dps leaves then it makes it rough to even time it let alone get any additional rating from it. I usually stick to guild groups but then when I branch out to try to complete keys for valor etc is when I encounter these players. Last week I had a guild member who kept having people leave on the last boss of keys before they even pulled with plenty of time left to finish the key. I know I am not alone in this issues but I also know that people sometimes wont complain to just avoid people on the forums (as you can see by other posters on this topic lol).
If a player leaves that means he’s not enjoying playing w/ the group anymore. And more often than not it’s because they group has 1 or 2 people that’s just weighing the group down to a point that he believes it’s not worth his time anymore. It’s that simple.
That is why it wouldnt be a player controlled feedback. What I am I guess pitching is just something similar to what already exists in Random Dungeons, LFR, and BGs. To where if you leave before its completed or are the first one or two to leave you will get a debuff and unable to queue for x amount of time. Then add onto that if they continue to do that (IE get more of the debuffs within a specific period) it would cause their name to either appear with some sort of warning or disclaimer automatically given by the system (Player has left x amount of keys within the last 2 weeks prior to completion) just something along those lines. That way the player themself wouldnt know if they had it or not.
What if the group is incapable of completing the dungeon and a player wants to leave early?
You can pretty much tell off the first few pulls + 1st boss if this is getting done or not.
Some people only want to time keys, if the group seems like they wont time it or it will take a massive time investment (once the key is dead anything after is just…)
Your suggestions have been brought up before and the answers/replies will be the same exact.
