On the forums, or in game, I have noticed that some can’t seem to show basic respect for different views and others in general.
This should go against any social contract or whatever is around. I don’t really think this should ever result in a perma-ban but it should drive home the point that different people have different views and everything.
So it’s offensive? Or just not understanding?
Because someone might have a take that isn’t considerate of other views but is still within the CoC. That’s ok

Closer to offensive, as it is also laced with insults or what one might feel are insults, like saying someone does not accept reality when what is being discussed could be broken down to both accepting a personal reality but one does not accept the other as a potential reality.
In a way it is "I don’t agree with you, but you have the “right” to state your views vs. I think you (put insult, slam, whatever here).
In a way, it could be looked at as a form of personal trolling, I.E it won’t get removed or hidden as only one will likely feel trolled.

I occasionally get a really bad take to something I’ve written. If it’s absolutely dumb I just ignore it because often stupidity destroys itself.
Close, it would be more “you are entitled to whatever opinions you want, but in my views, or based on my experiences, you are wrong”.

This is not a free speech zone where all opinions are of equal validity. Shoehorning extremist politics, religion, or dead horse issues into the forum through spamming virtually identical new posts is and should be reportable.
People haven’t changed. People don’t change.
yeah, people can make you rage without saying a single obscenity (Bullying 101: Make yourself the victim by making them look bad because their reaction is worse than your taunts), which is bad for me, being once I get mad, it’s all obscenities from there.
What exactly can you do with insults, or offensive statements that don’t break TOS or anything that classifies as bullying in any medium, like Discord, Facebook, or freaking IRL (back when I was in school). And you can’t curse them out or tell them off, or else they’ll put the blame on you, get you banned, in trouble, gaslight you, and claim “they are walking away” after kicking the hornets nest. (Which is also Bullying 101: Walk away/say moving on after kicking the hornets’ nest, enraging them more, and don’t even give them a chance to respond, if they respond, they look bad. )

And you cannot simply block someone on Discord or IRL, the same with forums. They can still see your post, respond to them, and cause chaos around you.
I went to the school in the sixties/seventies., yes there is a huge difference on attitudes of Being offended from back then to now.
Nor any real disagreements with family ,we can respect while being not. I can’t give up on family why would I give up on a community?
Think of it more like the ad homonym fallacy, like one can state that ones views are right for them, but another’s views are not without being insulting.
1985 here, and the only thing that sets me off is a lack of respect, or at least treating others as equals in favor of being “right”. I would prefer to agree to disagree then anything else.
The most I would ask for is instead of hiding posts, for those on ignore, give us an option where we can’t even see any post they make, we can’t even choose to see it, they more or less become a non-entity to us.
This I can agree with I don’t block too many people, but the people I do block I can’t stand… and dont want to see their post at all…this is 1 of the few forums that I’ve ever seen when you block somebody it really doesn’t block them
The whole forums would be grey if they put that in.
Then maybe that is what is needed to get the point of “if you can’t discuss respectfully and civilly, you should not be able to discuss at all”.
