And when Shadowlands releases and Christmas sales for shop come, they’ll go up again. Who cares?
Stop being whiny and wait for release like everyone else.

Just how stock works, just probably with some uncertainty. Stockholders don’t really look at a quality of a games’ release, but look at monetary security of the IPO. So delays, bad news, firings, etc, all kind of bring with it some drop in the stock.
President has COVID. Just about everything dropped.
It’s going to cost them money in the short term that’s why. Better than a long slow bleed from lost subs due to an unfinished game being rushed out.
Because it was a good idea for the players, not for the shareholders.
Didn’t a lot of stocks just drop bc Trump got Rona?
some of you have this weird assumption that whatever is important to you must be important to everyone else.
the vast majority of ATVI stock held is held by institutional investors, not individuals who care about what date Video Game X is releasing
Too often, short term gains are put ahead of long term survival to promote stock prices.
That may be a contributing factor but there’s a lot of other reasons for market fluctuations.

Stocks always drop and rise. Nothing new. And 5% is not even out of the norm
I just smoked cracked and it felt really great
I won’t deny that it’s possible (or even probable) that the announcement of delay buffeted their stocks somewhat, but I just don’t think it’s like. A big bad amount.
This is totally normal market stuff. Bad bait is bad.
Likely not, particularly when you consider the delay isn’t even going to push release date into the next quarter, meaning their earnings reports should look pretty much the same.
Ah I see, when evaluating things like stocks its always a good idea to look at a single snapshot in time. No, there’s no point in thinking about the future. Just gamble big on single points of data! Cause there’s nothing fallible about that! We only need 1 single point of data to extrapolate all future possibilities!
You know what would make their stocks drop faster? Shadowlands being a colossal cluster… If shadowlands is a huge success then this minor drop will be nothing compared to the gains…
or it could be algo trading
or noise
there are lots of reasons stocks can rise or fall 5% that have nothing to do with rational evaluation of cash flow or revenues or dividends or splits or …
True, so much of it is automated now.
Absolutely nothing can happen and your stock can still drop like a rock.
Stocks correlate to investor sentiment, almost never consumer sentiment…especially in our current economy.
because that means they missed third quarter for their shareholders.
no biggie this should be expected.
