Activision is Blizz's Biggest Down Fall

Biggest mistake in Blizz history is joining Activision, look at what they did to Bungie! Ruined one of the greatest company’s in history that made Halo 1, 2 and 3 to one of the most micro transaction hungry game’s Destiny and Call of Duty. Blizzard has to part ways with Activision because they are sabotaging blizzards games, name and reputation, its been nothing but down hill since they joined forces, and WoW population dropped from 10 million down to 1.7 million if that since they joined i PRAY Blizzard will leave before its to late and lose their Identity and be fully engulfed by Activision, and go back to their old motto by making games for gamer’s. and not think about destroying awesome games like diablo just so you can turn it in to a micro transaction festa. Activision dose not care about blizzard, like the movie Goodfellas where the mob take over the bar owners bar and they just bleed it dry and at the end they cant get no more money out of it! they burn it to the ground, im afrad thats what activision will do to blizzard,

This is fresh and original.

Also, keep in mind this is what Blizzard wanted at some point. They knew they were making the best games, but thought they weren’t making the kind of money they should have. So they looked for and got Activision’s help. Now their games aren’t as good, but they’re making the money.

People do realize that Blizzard and Activision are only together on paper yes? And have been since right before Wrath launched. If Activision had any control over Blizzard it wouldn’t just be happening now all of a sudden. Are people just learning that the name of the company is Activision Blizzard?!?

I could be wrong on this, but I don’t believe it was Blizzard’s decision to make. Vivendi was the holding company of Blizzard, and they merged with Activision.

That is correct Vivendi merged the two companies, but it is only on paper for stock reasons. When the chance arose both companies paid Vivendi and bought out the contract. They remained Activision Blizzard for tax and stock purposes, however they don’t have anything to do with each other in terms of game development.

This has all been gone over many times. People simply bring it up as an excuse whenever they don’t like something that Blizzard has done. Completely forgetting that it has been this way since Wrath (which is widely considered to be the apex of WoW).

Definitely agree on the point that Activision is not calling the shots. If they were, Blizzard games would have been vastly different for years now.

Duh?

Activision took blizzard from “we’re going to make the game we want and it’ll be so good everyone will want to play”

to

“How can we put less into this rng casino while still reaping the same income?”

Yep… I don’t agree with some of the ideas that Blizzard has implemented, but that is on Blizzard. This has nothing to do with Activision (and I don’t really like Activision either).

So you hated Wrath and every expansion since then? Because that is when Activision and Blizzard merged.

Stop buying things from auction house, token goes down because noone wants the gold or needs it.

This game needs to go truly ftp because their money is just not going into the game and you can tell.

Sorry but every time i turn around they make dumb changes where it makes you chase the carrot more and more with zero poops given on how much time we wasted as it is.

Activision is Bungie’s publisher, so they likely do have a say in what they will publish, meaning Bungie would have to bend to satisfy Activision.

However Blizzard Entertainment develops and publishes its own games. Activision does neither.

And, Activision and Activision-Blizzard are two very different things. Activision is a publishing company that has no hand in Blizzard Entertainment. Activision-Blizzard is a holding/equity firm that owns Blizzard Entertainment and Activision along with 3 other franchises, and isn’t going micro manage the features in a single game belonging to one arm of one of their franchises.

Took awhile for activision to sink their claws in. That’s why everyone that built WoW is “leaving”. As they leave we see Blizzards philosophys going with them and Activisions coming in.

These people who say Activision has no sway over blizzard could find a pile of dead bodies in Jeffrey Dahmer’s house and be like, “I think they just all had heart attacks.”

So it took them like 10 years to “sink their claws in” ? That doesn’t even make any kind of rational sense. Again Activision and Blizzard are seperate companies that have nothing to do with each other. They are owned by the same parent company that is known as Activision Blizzard, the two companies have nothing to do with each other’s games. Do you think Blizzard is telling Activision how to distribute Call of Duty?

Activision doesn’t own Blizzard and Blizzard doesn’t own Activision.

People actually believe this and it’s sad.

Or, you know, we live in the real world and aren’t alarmists who make crap up. Again Activison Blizzard has been a company since just before Wrath came out. Activision doesn’t own the company or run it. They literally have nothing to do with the day to day operation of Blizzard. Do you blame Blizzard for the things that Activision does? Because they both own an equal share of Activision Blizzard so that would mean they would both be running each other.

Again Activision Blizzard is a holding company. They share stock and profits, they don’t run each other. If you want call it something else like Big Ol Video Game Company, that company owns both Blizzard and Activision, which exist as separate companies and do not have any say in the day to day workings of each other.

Yeah I see you spouting the same nonsense the green did. Activision 100% has a hand in on blizzards direction. They may not create the content or operate the day to day operations but they absolutely are the ones trying to get blizzard to squeeze every dime out of its player base for as minimal effort as possible. It’s clear when you see the games blizzard has been putting out that cater more towards gambling adicts who want to buy loot boxes and MTXs. The direction of the company has changed too drastically to say “activision has no hand in it”

Do you think guys like Metzen and Morhaime stepped away from the game willingly? Or were the pushed out by a company that didn’t share their views and had a much larger hand in the pot then you imagined?

The creation of Activision Blizzard happened before Wrath came out, so you are saying that Morhaime and Metzen waited like 10 years to leave the company that Activision had already taken over? Metzen left because of health reasons and Morhaime stepped away to spend time with his family that he was spending too much time away from. They both worked for 20+ years at Blizzard that is a very long time for one company. Also Morhaime is only stepping down as President, he is remaining with the company as an advisor.

Again Activision doesn’t own Blizzard. It could be called Blizzard Activision, but they went with alphabetical order when Vivendi created the holding company.
