I am having a blast. I hope they do TBC and Wrath, and if they prove to be good moneymakers, they do a new expansion after wrath.
I tried to get people to advocate for server specific battlegrounds but no one was interested.
I was interested.
the player base is at fault for the pvp wake up and realize it.
Private servers executed Classic better.
And they did it because while it wasnât possible for them to do progressive patching, there was no #nochanges nonsense to deal with.
If you pug sure, but when you premade you tend to fight the same premades a lot.

The dream died with us.
This is simply because Blizzard screwed up and made the same mistake over again and utilized CRBG.
This destroyed my interest in the PvP side of classic. I still have fun with it, but without the same people to do battle VS Its just another meaningless empty victory.
The only part of the vanilla experience we can enjoy now is the leveling experience, the raids and on occasion the World PvP is actually really good.
Itâs just that the BGâs are pure trash because of CRBG just like what happened in original vanilla when CRBG destroyed the PvP community.
You would think that if Blizzard was being smart they would use the versions of things in the original vanilla timeline that persisted longest. Things like the 10 man scholomance or Local server BG, or to keep the 25% DR on HKâs.
They did the mount cost, but for some reason dropped the ball; likely due to outside pressure or internal biases.
Disagree, maybe itâs because Iâm on a medium population server (Deviate Delight) but the sense of community is strong. Perhaps you just havenât found the right people to play with yet? I have several nemesis lol
ATVI stock price is up. Much higher than it was a year ago. Do you guys really think the folks at ActiBlizz feel that they âswung and missedâ? lol
Thatâs really more of a community problem and not so much an issue with how the game was developed. I feel like if people are unsatisfied itâs probably due to unrealistic expectations. If you expected your experience to be that of yourself seeing the game for the first time 15 years ago then yeah, youâre going to be disappointed. Thereâs no way around that.
We still have this in the form of world PvP and some guild vs guild competition. Itâs just not really in the battlegrounds. But cross realm BGs were in 1.12. So thatâs that I suppose.
A actual post on here I agree with. The cross faction PVP was to REWARD masses of people for choosing the stronger faction and all those individual sperg rivalries the servers would have gotten were taken away from us. Phase 2 on Faerlina had a lot of pvp drama that kind of flew under the radar unless you were in one of the involved guilds but it was there and it was really funny. The hatred would have only grown and the entertainment value as well but I dont expect professional forum posters to understand that drama and rivalries are great for a game.
I also worry about TBC because ActiBlizz actually thinks the changes theyve made were a good thing and thus enabling their egos to make even more changes to this game and the following expansions. This iteration of blizz is a disgusting hallow shell of itself and they canât even leave stuff alone that never needing their âfixingâ to begin with. SJWâs love rewriting history in their own âimprovedâ image and these games are no different. If their changes fail they blame the playerbase and not themselves.
Stock prices are meaningless to video game quality.
If you think so then go see what your line of thinking has done for modern WoW.
If you had of read my post you would see that I pointed out some of the great features of Classic and then said that I agree with the OP on regard to the CRBG situation being pure garbage.
I think there is a lot of truth to what OP has said.
Itâs fine carry on
The game is fine. I feel like most of the changes have been QoL but thatâs just me.
Stock price higher means that gamers are still buying enough of the games to bring in the cash, regardless of whether people feel ActiBlizz âswung and missedâ on game quality.
But maybe they should look at CDPR as an example. They remind of the old Blizzard with excellent games and good customer relations. And their stock price has been growing much faster than the old line AAAs like EA and ActiBlizz.
People wanted the old community feeling
Blizzard has no control over that.
Community is something only we can create. Blizzard destroyed the environment in which a community could flourish the in the first place with retail. With Classic, that environment is back. Now it falls to us to rebuild the community.
Sadly, for us though, we the players have changed. As such, that community we had 15 years ago will NEVER be able to come back. All we can do is build a new community, a different one, and hope we do a good job and that which we build is as worthy as the one 15 years ago.
It is like as with war. You can never get back that which was lost and destroyed. All you can do is remember and move on.
Ya but with way over populated servers, guilds mean less / have less stature. And CRBGs killed the community and server rivalries/drama that were budding pre CRBGs.
