I knew it was coming as soon as they pulled the xp bonus off of heirloom gear. With the constant defense of leveling is just as fast. Can’t have people blowing through content then leaving right away. Gotta stretch out those subs.
You’re just having a bad dream again, Nemo

Oh it’s another blame the activision for blizzards mistakes thread where people don’t know that the people in charge of it are not activision but the parent company who owned blizzard before the merger that took control of activision.

They adjusted it because people were reaching max before they completed all the leveling areas.
I could understand if they made this change after shadowlands released or if you were complaining about the current slow version of leveling but this is just you being stupid
I don’t mind it taking longer to level from 50 to 60. That’s the latest expansion after all. However when you start throwing in things like pathfinder and waiting forever for it that’s when they’ve gone too far.
Once you’ve leveled a character to max or a few, the player should be “rewarded” in some way, back in wotlk that was being able to buy the flying book to unlock it for your alts. It was glorious.
someone should tell OP that the levels the boost lets you skip are being nearly unchanged.
it’ll still take the same amount of time to reach reach 50 as it would before, which since OP brought up the boost I have to assume is what he’s concerned about.
there are real things to complain about in shadowlands, and other shady practices of activision, but this really isn’t one of them. This appears to be a harmless xp retuning for the new expansion.
EDIT: and according to that article, it’s actually FASTER when you’re leveling from 20-36.
it’ll be ok.

Is that a surprise at all? They were only letting people go fast so they could test endgame.
You people keep saying this like heirlooms were going to function in the 50-60 range right off the bat.
Try again cupcake.
This change has nothing to do with any of what you just typed.
Open content is not only an important part of the ‘actual’ game, it is the base of it. Just because you aren’t into it doesn’t mean it is not crucial to a MMORPG.
No, it isn’t.
It is there to create immersion, add world-building, relate story, provide practice space, ect. To be frank.
That is fine. Different people play the game differently.
But that does not negate the importance and validity of content you don’t care about to the game.
I wondered this myself (and discussed it on another thread). My son explained to me it would be impossible for an instance-based game to provide enough content to maintain a steady customer base. That is why in WoW, as the time it take to level goes down, the amount of mandatory repetitious content in end game goes up.
…you do realize the EXP required to level new expansion levels is ALWAYS insanely short on beta, right? And then changed to the actual numbers near the end?
They have it intentionally quick to level on beta so people can get through content fast.
Dont forget, they also nerfed heirlooms.
Why did they flag OP BTW?
The problem is you can’t just do the main story chain anymore you need to do side quest bs that I would rather skip. Swtor has actually my favorite leveling system. Do all the main story quests and you will get through each planet at the right level.
You don’t have to play the game as if they are.
Personally, I don’t level, I strictly quest.
No, it means the frame has been completed.
Umm… that xp bar is filling up thruout the zone.
And personally, I don’t need a big pat on the back. As far as I am concerned, completing a zone is it’s own reward. (Although the acheivement is a nice ‘atta girl’
)
There is the possibility that if a person needs more, they are playing the wrong type of game.
It is not a barrier to entry. It is the base of the game.
Reward are not only given at the completion of quests but mobs drop them all over the place.
It truly is never enough.
I don’t get this people are saying they reached 60 without completing all of the zones and main quest so they’re nerfing it so they can complete them? You will have to complete them anyway to chose a convenient so what’s wrong in completing them at 60?
so long as i only have to do the main questlines, im done with sidequests in wow forever.
Isn’t doing the MS quest more important what do they care if we do the side stuff that doesn’t effect the outcome of the story most of the time it’s stuff you don’t wanna do till later unless your the type to knock it out on their first run through but after so many times you’d prefer to skip it.
