Or, maybe actually understand that you’d basically finish leveling without even getting halfway through Revendreth.
Leveling in Shadowlands was too fast to the point where you’d hit 60 way before you finished Revendreth. Making you unable to pick your Covenant.
They’re not being idiots. They’re designing their game properly.
it’s extremely reasonable you can have story without needing to extend leveling. The story still exists even if leveling is done you can go do it at any time. I’m not asking for the quests to be removed I just don’t need to be forced to do anything besides main story.
People don’t complain about end game leveling, they complain about the leveling to get to the end game leveling. The faster leveling was going to be taken away from the start, and every expansion has a slower leveling curve compared to the expansion before.
This isn’t new, and compared to very old leveling, this will still be much faster.
People will complain about everything.
That sounds like it’d be less of an MMO and something closer to a MOBA with a third person camera. No world, no levels, just a lobby and raids.
They may like something like Destiny 2, the actual leveling/gearing part is suppose to be very minor, nothing boring to get in the way of shooty bang bangs.
No they didn’t.
You know you’re being disingenuous. 50-60 is the current expansion, you can’t just beat the game in a couple of hours.
Or are you actually going to complain that you have to play the game in order to get through the game…?
You WOULDN’T have got to the “actual game as quick”. Before the change, you were going to max level before you actually finished the story quests that were required to choose a covenant.
It’s going to be like any other expansion in recently memory, about 1-2 hours per level. Even if they doubled that, it would be a trivial amount of increase compared to the grind treadmill you are willingly getting on, just by playing an MMO.
As it was on beta you would hit max level long before you would finish the storyline quests even if you were skipping out on the side quests. It was bound to go up.
I love how everyone lives in this fantasy land where the accountants to a completely unrelated department are taking initiative to personally guide the game director to make all of these horrible changes.
changes like, finding out that leveling on the beta was too fast so they tweaked it slightly to make more sense oh noes
quick, everyone grab the pitchforks and sell your ATVI stock.
good Lord, people. 🤦
Why would they think a level booster would sell for $60? That’s absurd. That’s more then the frigging expansion! For a level boost? I’d have to be fish dumb to buy that! Another thing is, IT DOESN’T WORK MENTALLY! I tried it two times with a paladin and a hunter. I got bored of both because I didn’t LEVEL THEM UP! Instead I used the boost. I don’t even know what I’m doing because I didn’t experience the class.
So I did a test to see if it was true. I kept the ones I used the boost on and leveled up others. They were the same class and I wanted to test it out. Don’t worry I got the level boost from pre-ordering the expansions that came with it. So when I used the level booster I played the class. I didn’t feel motivated to gear them up or continue at all and decided to delete them. Now I’m leveling the same class which is Paladin and I feel motivated to get it to max.
Activision and their stupid things they sell. What were they even thinking?
I know, right? I’m thinking it’s about time to delete all my characters and cancel my sub.
Regardless, the XP is better than BFA
That tin foil is killing ya buddy.
No matter what they do they are going to get hate.
Level fast: OMG they want to rush us into endgame… I still have quests 11111
Level slower: omg time played metrics blizzard suxx
I feel like levelling and questing are intertwined and I don’t want them to be. If you abandon doing quests as soon as you hit max level, thats a very strong indication that the content is not engaging or the reward system for the content not being comparable. Doing a zone to completion should yield a big reward, milestone type events should always yield a big reward, not arbitrarily filling an xp bar.
Questing is fun content and I really like doing it, I just think it does not serve its purpose when it acts as a barrier to entry. For example, look at the questlines that involve legendary rewards.
If each block of quest content (each zone patch, epic questline etc) had a reward that was not just a power reward but maybe a portal or fast transit system, a cosmetic, some NPC bodyguards, increased craft mats, a daily cache that could be looted or a daily event that you could do for a lucrative currency reward.
tin fool wasn’t too far from the truth either. I really wish people had the ability to apply critical thinking beyond chugging that activision flavored koolaid
You know, i hate Activision as much as the next guy, but when are we gonna start putting the blame on blizzard instead of strawmanning activision? Blizzard isn’t some darling child that can do no wrong, and just because they’re two parts of the same company doesn’t mean one completely controls all the actions of the other.
They increased it because you would hit max well before finishing the story. You know, the MSQ that everyone loves about FF14.
It’s the work of bob at accounting. His wife ain’t happy with him… So he takes his frustrations out on the playerbase.
Leveling is always faster in alpha and beta so people can test the end game without making people completely neglect retail. It’s testing so the leveling grind shouldn’t be a grind, that’s been tested since the inception of WoW.
