Active Game Time Required to Play Error? I Have a Sub

So this is concerning, is anyone else having this problem?

I have an active sub, I have been subscribed for some time. I am not able to log in to the Classic stress test because I keep getting the error that active game time is required to play World of Warcraft Classic. Again, I am subscribed.

I tried to log in a minute after the stress test went live and was able to see two NA realms and one Oceanic realm, but they were both offline.

I tried again a few minutes later and I got this error and am still getting this error. I just tried again. I have been subscribed consistently for months. Hoping someone from Blizzard sees this thread and addresses it because people are obviously in the game without issue.

Ok, so after I get the error I decided to try logging in at the login screen instead of exiting out and trying to repeatedly launch again through the battlenet app. This seemed to get me in because I am now in a queue. Sitting at 1119 right now.

So if anyone is having this problem, after getting the error, try logging in at the login screen. Don’t exit the app and launch again from it.

But, I figured this out just in time when I have to leave lol. All is good. I will give this a try later tonight or tomorrow. Have fun all!

Me. This is a thing. This thing is happening to me too.

I’m having this same issue except I can’t log into the retail version either. Tried re-entering my credentials as well and still nothing.

Ah so that’s how it is. Ugh what else is new.

No matter what I do, it still says I need an active sub. I can log into retail with no problem. Can’t find active wow account.

Just a random thought. Is your sub from a Game Token or an actual sub?

Actual sub. Paid by credit card for 3 months.

I am having this issue too, but my retail is fine. I manually logged into classic but got the same message about needing an active sub.

Bump. My active sub is not working.

I’m an idiot and my billing method expired last month on this day. Fixed- I’m in.

Discovered I had one of the old free test accounts that my client was set to. When I changed to the active account, I got in fine. Tirisfal Glades is worse than Barrens chat.

Bump. Currently experiencing this and cant log in despite having active game time untill march

Make sure you don’t have multiple accounts in the dropdown box in the launcher. For example. Years back I created a trial account to play up to level 20. It cannot be deleted, and now comes up as WOW3, whereas my regular account is WOW1. Sometimes for whatever reason, the launcher will default to the wrong account and has fooled me before into thinking something was incorrect in my account or billing, when it was simply the wrong thing selected in the dropdown.
