Then why did they get banned for RMT? Just because they have a rule against doesn’t means they follow them.
Because in a large community the odds of someone doing something shady behind people’s backs is like 99%. It’s not the community’s fault and this is quite literally Blizzard throwing hundreds of people under the bus for something like one or two people did. You don’t punish an entire community for a couple individuals doing something shady in secrecy while it’s clearly against the community’s policy.
“We don’t break the rules… Promise ”
Do you really think there would be a blue post about one or two people?
You keep using the word community.
“ the Gallywix boosting organization has been taking part in gold selling for real money.”
It’s been thought that the admins of the organization have been taking under the table RMT for ages. Even members of limit have brought this up, and Max even said they stopped associating with them because of it.
It’s pretty clear that they are taking actions against the organization, not the community.
It happened before with some rbgs carry if I remember in Legion, they might unban some people if they ban too hard. But I doubt that the people they ban are that much innocent, will have to wait and see.
I wont lie tho.
I do feel a bit bad for the carriers expecting to get paid off for their work and now they wont see a single copper.
What discussion? That article is just another “business as usual in America” story.
except it’s not.
can people who have a balance owed with gallwix accept that gold?
that is the question people have. The way it’s worded, if someone accepts gold from gally from the time this was posted forward, they are subject to account action.
It’s dangerous basicly to do it. I wouldn’t do it. Maybe depends how many people they ban for it. Will have to wait and see.
This is for future transactions. The organization was punished, and because of that they ruined it for their own community as well.
No one was punished as a community member for doing just standard carries. You will be if you continue to do them in the future, because of the actions the organization made. Quoting something out of context doesn’t just magically make what you want to believe correct.
THIS. Please blizzard clarify.
And are we not to do any transactions with any boosting community at all? or just gallywix? or what happens when all the advertisers from gally go to this new community.
Like have a CLEAR rule on this and post it. Like just say no more boosting communities. So we can go back to advertising for our selfs and prices arent so damn cheap.
But then where does it stop? like are guilds not allowed to have personal advertisers?
yeah but this for sure tainted the “trust” on the name…
It’s not going to be like it was “before”.
Probably, but that’s the risk you take when you use a 3rd party source to make gold transactions in game. Thats not blizzards prerogative to make sure you get paid your gold for something they didn’t force you to do.
Which is why users are asking for clarification. Because they won’t want their accounts banned. It’s not about the gold.
I would not do any dealing with any boosting community that take a lot of time to pay up. Or with shady cuts where you don’t know how the deal was done or can’t trust the guy that did it. If it’s guild/friend carry I think you should be normally safe if you trust those people to not do rmt.
It’s not their responsibility to do so. You chose to partake in an activity that this could potentially happen in. If they say not to do future transactions or associate with them, why would you then make future transactions with them.
Don’t have to worry about the top 1% complaining about covenants if they ban all the top guilds. Brilliant move cotton.
I swear the more you type the more you prove that you don’t know at all how gold boosting works.
It’s done like some back alley deal.
Psst I got a client for you.
