Wondering if anyone knows how to make the empty slots invisible. Right now they are always there which very distracting my attention.
For Chat Box… is there a way to resize its window flexibly outside of Edit mode? Very annoying that every time you need to enable edit mode and then save.
Worse more, the chat box is unable to adjust its size automatically if the game window size got changed. It will be covered by the action bars. Really hope the team can fix this as least to make sure it won’t be covered by other UI elements

I recall from my fiddling with the UI in beta that the option for hiding empty action bar slots was in the edit mode window when you have an action bar selected.

I had the same issue with the chat box. I searched for an hour trying to find a way to resize it. Finally asked a friend and he said to go into edit mode and the little hash tag is there in the bottom right corner. It is so faded and light it is easy to miss. But it works. Bummer they didn’t leave it where it was, because I was always changing the size of the chat box to read messages and comments, then shrinking it back down to nothing. lol

The chatbox is probably the most annoying part of the new UI. I’ve always used Prat to move the bar to the top of the chat window and customize how names/dates/colors/etc. show up so my settings are completely engrained in muscle memory. Unfortunately, the dev passed away and no one has picked it up, and now its actions are blocked by Blizzard UI.

You can hide empty action bar slots only on bars 2-whatever the last bar is. Action bar 1 does not have the option. For all other bars, aside from 1, when you click on the bar in edit mode there is an option to ‘Always show buttons’ (or some wording of the sort) - Turning that option on will hide unused slots on those bars.
As far as the chat box, I have not seen any other way to resize outside of using the edit mode, unless possibly using an addon outside of the standard UI that allows you to do so, like Prat (iirc).

Empty bar slots would be go in to edit and click on the bar and you should see it in the options window to hide empty slots.
Haven’t played with the chat window yet but you think they would improve on such things rather then dumb it down.
Like with radar, I liked seeing where mail boxes are but now I can’t but I can pick transmogifier NPCs.

Yeah, that is the only way to resize, took me a while to notice it too! But I have to say it is not a friendly experience, very annoying when you want to resize it often.
