Why can’t we have achievements in classic wow? It will not change the gameplay at all. This its the real classic experience went out the window a long time ago. So! why not put achievements in classic wow for ppl to work on ? Would keep people subbed and playing instead of logging with buffs all the time ??? I know people can Chronoboon just like in classic!!! Give us achievements and lets ppl have fun…

But they do exist, they’re added in Wrath and we have them in Cata and soon MoP.
The only place that has no “achievements” is Vanilla and TBC, and really that’s not even really a problem now days because the only things that people care about are parses that are easily to searched on WCL (when its working) and those are better than any Blizzard achievements because it shows actual performance IF and only if the observer understands how parses work and how important certain world buffs / group buffs (TBC) are for the players then understanding how the parse value is less important than the group comp, and total boss kill time / raid clear time. As for PVP achievements; those are kinda meaningless as they can be sold like the rest, but now days no one really cares about PVP achievements because now days people really do understand how meta dependent they are for the “every player” and so long as we do not have any class tuning and balancing playing the meta is hyper important so no one takes the PVP side of TBC, Wrath, Cata all that terribly serious because its by design imbalanced.
TL;DR on this wall O text. We already have them, and you can look them up on WCL; its the only thing that people kinda care about.
The achievement is having time to play games and having fun while playing them

What you wear is your “achievements” in this older style of games. Like if you see someone with Lokamir or Ashkandi you can assume they have Nef on farm.
(yeah yeah GDKP/carries/whatever people buy achievements on retail too).

Yup, there is nothing in retail that is not for sale now days, be that RMT or Gold masked RMT.

I did lots of achievements back in the day and many I enjoyed. Especially the BG ones, those are mostly fun.
That said, they become just another goofy gate keepy thing that WoW players use akin to Gear Score and other abominations that just hurt the game. You get absurd things like people wanting to see a Heroic achivement for Normal mode - yeah it makes no sense but people ask for it with a straight face. Honestly the longer we can go without them the better.
It will absolutely change gameplay the same way wcl changed it.
