Which means it’s a unannounced change. Unless they fix it have to take it that way. It’s been reported a bunch as such no way they don’t know about it. So at they point either they will fix it or not.
The same can be done via addons if you want to announce it in fact the assons to do so have already been made for example questie has this function now seen a guildy using it to.
To me it’s just spam thou. I can see the value of announcements for the more difficult achivs but I don’t really care if you just got your first honorable kill.
Esp as these in turn got people to get auto gratz wa and addons kinda goes adverse to saying gratz if your going to automate it. But that’s offtopic.
There’s an addon now that’ll play the sound and announce it in guild chat just like it did in original WOTLK. Works perfectly. Its called AchievementSound.

I really don’t mind this, tbh. Just my opinion.
I absolutely don’t mind this, most achievements don’t deserve to be announced tbh.
I don’t disagree with this take.
I like to see it anyway, and I hope they bring back / fix this. – as a bonus they can (if not already able) add a toggle option for someone like yourself who doesn’t want to see it.
When the developer of the new addon starts making a bit of coin then they will fix it.
They did fix the achievements not being announced at all. They are now announced to people near you. Blizzard must have forgotten the guild announcing part.
they have like 2 people working on wrath. Cut them some slack. One working on the LFG system and one working on bugfixes.
you need an addon to announce achievements to your guild. least until this is fixed, but as it stands?
yeah, the AchievementSound addon is the only way to announce it to guildies…unless you link it in chat afterwards.
Attune built it into their addon too.
ahh, wasn’t aware of that. i should try to download that at some point again. haven’t used it since Classic, but it can be pretty helpful at least.
eh, without attunement requirements anymore, its not as necessary. It does list quest chains for important unlocks like the sons of hodir quest hub, etc.

yeah, that can be helpful as i haven’t done the Hodir quest chain in over 13 years so my knowledge is a tad rusty right now. XD
not sure about Atune, but AchievementSound does bring that all-too-familiar chime of getting achieves. i still remember when i faction changed to Horde and got a whole slew of achieves. scared the tar out of nearby players. it was awesome. XD

Bump. Its past being humorous at this point. Can we at least get some news on why this is still not working Blizz?
As a somewhat humorous addition that somewhat explains whats happening, the All The Things addon author was checking some other stuff, and found that the achievement event is correctly being sent by the server to everyone in your guild, but then the client just ignores it and doesn’t show anything.

Lmao weird af, been reporting this bug for months now. Hopefully it gets fixed soonish!
But until then, keep reporting the bug through the in-game bug reporting ticket
