Achievement Point rewards, yea or nay?

All purely cosmetic, of course.
The way I assume it would work would be similar to the PVP levels- Starting small, getting larger then plateauing out at a certain point.
Reward 1 at 25 AP, 2 at 50, 3 at 100, 250, 500, 1000, then every 1000 after that.

I think it’d be pretty neat, and it’d encourage doing stuff you usually wouldn’t for the carrot on a stick of new rewards.

Yes, I deserve rewards. Gimme.

Ehh, I’m not sold. There are already rewards tied to various achievements. At the very least, not nearly as many as you’re proposing.

Sure, mostly cuz I’d get a bunch of stuff at this point

Rewards for achievement points would be a good idea. We allready get titles/mounts /pets for specific achievements, why not have rewards for achievement points? After all whats the point of achievement points if theirs no rewards for them.Plus it would give players a reason to shoot for achievements they otherwise wouldn’t go after.

Technically speaking this already exists.

It’s the difference between an achievement and a META achievement.

“Glory of” is a perfect example. The mount rewarded is a prize for pursuing that specific group or cluster of achievements, which gives you a global one that grants you a mount.

Every section or category has meta achivs. that people can shoot for and have rewards awaiting. Not sure how your suggestion would differ from the current system.

Achievements have plenty of rewards. Total points doesn’t need more.

It’d basically be a bar you fill up by getting achievement points. At every milestone, you get a reward, be it a mount, transmog set, title, etc.
It also wouldn’t be bound by the same rules meta achievements are, since every achievement could count towards it (given it rewards points).

Yes, not a bad idea. Probably low on their priority tho

Then what is the point? To clutter the system even more with redundant prizes?

There already is a Feat of Strength (which are supposed to be prestigious) for acquiring over 9000 points. There are also a number of “secret” or “hidden” FoS for certain completions like getting all 12 Class Halls done.

Meta’s accomplish exactly what you are asking for. There is no need for more carrots that need to be dangling for people that like to hunt achivs.

The point is to incentivize the achievements that don’t reward anything but points, basically. They’d be given more of a purpose than, y’know, none.

OP is that a vuvuzela in front of your face?

Achievement point store; points work like gold, and you can buy special transmogs. Now achievement grinding has a reason. Your score is just a running total, not a count of your spendable points.

I actually considered that option too! But I figured people might raise a fuss over it being a store, heh. I’d prefer that personally, as long as they kept the costs reasonable.

I agree, but with some changes.

Yes, there are many achievements that offer rewards, whether it’s a title or mount or pet or whatever. The problem is that the MAJORITY of achievements give no reward whatsoever, aside from the points.

What about a reward system that works like talents. Titles, Buffs, Pets, Mounts, etc.
Every 250-500 AP you get a single AP MARK. That Mark can be used to select these “talents” , so 1 mark talents would be XP 1%, rep bonus 1%, etc. But 2-3 can be used for a battle pet instead. Or a mount at 5-10 marks. Players can choose if they want to use the marks they have earned on a few big things or a bunch of smaller things.

But, the key is that you can’t unlock everything. So we have cosmetic/bonus buff type talents to select. Someone with a lot of AP Marks could choose 3 pets and 2 mounts. While someone with the same could have 10 different buffs working. Light buffs, nothing major.

I think this could really work. Everyone will still get rewards from individual and meta achievements, but the points will be used so we can unlock some stuff and not feel like our achievements gave us nothing.

It is not hard to rack up hundreds of points without any reward right now. So even if its something as simple as 1% rep bonus every 500-1000 AP, it would still be something awesome.

What do you guys think?
