Looted “The Lost Diary” which is a part of the achievement. And there was nowhere to turn it in. A turn did become available called “The Lost Flame”. Upon turning in it did not check off anything and The Lost Diary drop quest item was no longer in bags.

I just had the exact same issue. Looted ‘The Lost Diary’ it immediately turned into ‘Expedition Tinderbox’ and gave me the quest ‘The Lost Flame’ which did not give ‘Lost Diary’ credit for the ‘Life on the Farm’ achievement.

i looted the fisherman’s bag, and per wowhead, there should have been an item for this achievement in it. Nothing.
Still bugged.
Looting the Lost Diary still gives the Lost Flame quest from the Expedition Tinderbox.
Same issue. Looted lost diary and it immediately turns into the tinderbox.
it is fixed now, just completed it 
I got the Diary to drop from a Arathi Treasure box after 2 hours of looking and only 4 chests up in the zone…
Does it only drop from those Arathor boxes? Cos ever since the hotfix i found a grand total of 1 single box in like 5 hours.
Edit: Finally got another 2 and 1 of them is the diary. Turned it in.
OF COS THEY START APPEARING IN DROVES AFTER THAT >.>
