Acer Predator XB271HU vs LG 27GL83A-B

What makes the Acer monitor cost nearly twice as much as the LG?

There isn’t a lot of consumer reviews out there for the XB271HU monitor. Whereas the LG seems to be the monitor that people use. The ones I did find are similar to any other monitor reviews. The difference seems to be it has BFi, no HDR, older USB ports, and G-Sync. The LG monitor doesn’t have g-sync (Freesync), HDR, and 2.0 USB. I’ve read the HDR isn’t amazing. USB ports don’t really matter to me. Rtings rates the LG slightly higher.

With Prime Day Deals, these monitors cost the same. The Acer Predator is 43% off and the LG has no discount, making them the exact same price. Which one would you get and why?

The LG 27GL850-B apparently had a Prime Day Deal. But, sold out super quickly.

I already own the XB271HU and it’s the best monitor I’ve ever owned hands down. I bought it in 2016 and it’s still just as good as the day I bought it. I’ve had good luck with LG monitors in the past too though. I guess it comes down to preference. I like Gsync and 165Hz at 1440p.

The price is just so odd to me. Either monitor would be a massive upgrade over my current one. Kind of excited for that!

Thank you so much, Mordrid!

Always get an actual G-sync monitor. G-sync “compatible” isn’t as good.

My experience has been the exact opposite. Always get a good monitor.

There are crappy Gsync monitors and crappy ‘Gsync-compatible’ monitors. Same with Freesync.
