I’m not saying remove restrictions.
Example cloth wearing plate.
I’m saying if I get the “Tusks of Mannoroth” on my druid, allow it to be unlocked for my plate wearers and vise versa.

IMHO, all “trophy” items should be Cosmetic.
Would be nice, but they need you to stay on that treadmill as long as they can.
I agree with Greenguy, upgrade the old and future “flavor” items to cosmetic.
Agreed. The only reason this restriction seems to exist is to encourage coming back on an alt.
… It’s a good thing, in theory, but in practice, you end up seeing that item drop repeatedly on exactly the wrong character and going completely insane.
It’s depreciated gear - treat it like any other cosmetic, or a mount. Nobody cares anymore.
That treadmill is getting old after years of running on it lol
Legendaries like Thori’dal not being part of the library when the achievs are account-wide is annoying.
I’m still sad that my mage can’t wear the laughing headless horseman helmet from Halloween. sadface
Also breaking some restrictions would be nice.
Mail-Plate and Leather-Mail overlap would be very nice imo, since Hunters and Shammies used to only get mail proficiency at 40 before Legion, same for Plate prof on Paladin and War. They pretty much had to rework a ton of low-level itemization to make Legion’s armor proficiency changes work.
If they want to not go wild they could just lock it to the four classes that historically changed armor tier at 40, since often the aesthetics of these armor tiers also changed heavily around those levels.
I’m saying remove restrictions!
Yes please!
I hate most mail armor but a lot of leather looks cool, and it can give hunters a more ranger-like aesthetic.
tbh mail armor outside vanilla sets tends to go there more often, to a point where most raid tiers go overboard and looks like we’re wearing undressed kills.
I’ve proposed the Transmog idea of “limited Cross Armor” Let me explain it.
Armor is vast, and its very creative. Blizzard is notorious for mixing and matching armor pieces on their NPCs to make very unique appearances and fashion for their characters. Whether by combining plate and cloth to make a battlemage. Or some of the more unique pieces of overlaying armor pieces over others.
Let’s compare some examples.
Chromie - Classic
She uses a few pieces here.
She uses a group of mail and cloth armor and stands out distinctively with this regal white, black, and gold look.
Let’s take a lesser known NPC. A 7th Legion Cleric
There’s some extremely distinct outfits that Blizzard puts together on these various characters. Where certain items are used to depict a well armored healer, or an ornate robe. I’d propose the ability to allow us to use 2-3 “Cross armor” pieces from other armor types. Such as a hood, a glove, bracer, boot, or pants.
Have an option to make a shirt out of one tunic, and overlay it with another. We can only use limited pieces from other unlocked armor types so that there’s a unique mixture for every class to borrow pieces from. Such as paladins using the Cowl of Benevolence, or Warriors using a Mail Circlet and a soft vest.
This would give players enough creativity without going too extreme on the armor pieces. Where you can borrow other unlocked armor types to create truly unique outfits for classes who may be limited on options. (MAIL USERS, LOOKING AT YOU.)
Vanilla Chromie reminds me of noticing some of the Shattered Sun battlemages were wearing actual armor instead of clothie gear, which is pretty much impossible for a player mage
I’m not saying this shouldn’t be a thing… But NPC’s wearing mismatched armor types look ridiculous to me. Case in point is that NELF warrior priest abomination. To each their own…
I pretty much hate the class outfit for Paladins for that reason but some people like the fantasy of a robed warrior
/agreed
The Blackwing Lair set was the best one… Both WotLK Paladin robed sets were atrocious.
They’ve undermined their own transmog restrictions anyway with things like cosmetic sets, so they should just dispense with the loot restrictions already. How many times have I looted the Frostscythe of Lord Ahune on characters who couldn’t collect it, but it never dropped for those who could? Lots.
Let us mog white quality items
Lol 10 points. But when the content was current every woman was in love with those atrocities.
Really, my Paladin has a full set of Scarlet Monastery mail, and I’m annoyed that I can’t use it for transmog.
