Is it even necessary anymore? Cosmetic items and toys have essentially been unlocked. Additionally they made the achievement x- character.

i can see where one might enjoy rep progress on each toon… if they consider each to be a separate entity, like a split personality or something. personally, i identify with voltron- they may be separate at first, but when joined together, they make one powerful account! =]
Swear Blizzcon was more than 6 days ago when the OP made this thread.
Ion said the reps are going account wide. Especially making Champion rep easier so alts can level up their neck piece.
Funny nobody mentioned that in this thread.

Heirloom reputation tabard and an item available at Exalted like the MoP reps have that doubles rep gains on the account. More ways to get rep for all factions, besides questing: dungeons in zones give rep for the factions in that zone or for the heirloom tabard you’re wearing, gathering materials, dig sites give rep for the zone(or for the tabard you’re wearing), “world quest” type deals even for low level zones, PvP should give rep for the tabard you’re wearing.
I play like five tops and only three are 120 and only two of those are serious. The other, lol, 45 are false starts and goof off characters from the past 14 years. Mostly around for sentimental reasons.
As an alternative to truly accountwide rep, why not make it so any rewards unlocked at a reputation vendor are BoA?
The only reason to do the same reputation over again in 8.1 is going to be for recipes and transmog items. Just let me mail those to the alts that can use them, Blizzard.
I couldn’t care less about the bars all being green, I just don’t want to have to hit exalted for a pair of boots.

How about a quest I could do to vouch for my alts?
If you and I have been friends for 30 years and I introduce you to my brother you would not treat him like a complete stranger.

Because that’s a terrible idea. If you want a reward for an alt that has a rep requirement, play that alt and earn it. Alts already have enough things handed to them.

I did earn it, when I completed the reputation the first time. What benefit, outside padding MAUs, does asking me to do it again offer anyone?

Strange, I did not think the rep grind so far was that bad.
It benefits the economy of the servers for starters.
WIth so many other things turning account wide, I can’t understand why this already hasn’t been done. I am 100% behind this.

It hasn’t been done, because it’s a terrible idea.
I don’t want my alts to run into Booty bay and die because I forgot they hate one of my characters I’m exalted with the Bloodsail pirates.

Mop they had thing where you could select one the reps and get some rep in dungeons plus when you got exalted your alts gained rep faster bonus reputation it was, had like a golden arrow and if you click on one the stars , you get rep for certain things. They could have done that

Would you please expand on this? I’m not very smart, so I don’t follow what you mean here.
I’d love for account wide rep to be a thing especially with the current terrible way rep is rewarded. I truly despise being gated on a rep grind, or any grind for that matter. It’s rather annoying to be so near the end only to be blocked until the next day. This is one of the reasons why I have gone to logging in maybe once a week anymore.
For the “you’re lazy” responders, I have the Admired title, I’ve done the grinds, it’s not really worth doing it again. I don’t have Insane, yet but that one I can do on my own time without gating.

Yup. Never understood why you can buy tabards that do nothing but add customization options for transmog once you’re EXALTED. The kill rep grinding needs to come back and tabards should be account-wide unlockables.
