Account wide reputation please

Ok how about account wide UP to revered? all rep is growing equally until revered then it stops on all alts and that last step to exalted is a must grind for any and all alts? is that not fair?

I did answer the question. Just because you don’t like the answer doesn’t mean I didn’t answer it. And you answered my question perfectly. You don’t care about rep, so why do you care if it’s account-wide?

That isn’t my experience - all my characters could use the gear. Rep gear is a reward for doing world content. Using that gearing path this doesn’t happen. Sure if you run raid or a bunch of mythic plus dungeons you will out gear the gear you get from rep but that happens a lot if you run multiple gearing paths.

What I really find odd about these discussions is so many people are asking for this but then when you get into the discussion so many claim the rep rewards are of no value. If they are of no value then what point is account wide rep.

Toys and mounts are account wide. Gear is not and neither are profession patterns and both of those if you want benefits of those on multiple characters of course you should be required to earn them on each character.

The rep grind adds nothing of value to actual game play. I do not play alts often these days, and as such find the grind annoying and limiting when it comes to progressing.

Furthest they should go is either a 10% boost for every character at exalted to any alts. Or the bonus item they had in MoP.

EQ2 has a similar boost for alts. Each character at max level grants 5 or 10% more XP. I’ve always felt this was the better system from all the ones I’ve seen.

@Amine Completing the war campaign on your characters is rep locked. You might want to grind endless world quests to get that rep up on each character, but please don’t tell the rest of us we should be enjoying it.

Rep should be account wide along then we wouldnt need to grind endlessly for a rep locked item that is already something you prob wont be using since you already would be out gearing it on an alt.

I think it should be account wide with the exception of those exclusive to Horde and Alliance each.
All Factions that you can get rep with on both factions just be done once.

Will always disagree with this idea. Its just totally mindblowingly illogical for a new toon to walk up to the quartermaster of a faction they have never met and be treated as an exalted being. Makes zero sense.

I however have no objection to things that assist individual reputation efforts, such as tabards or the items that were available in MoP once you got to Exalted with a faction. They were excellent ideas and a big help for lots of reputation grinds. I have no idea why they were never used again, it seems a petty approach by Blizzard imo.

But Account wide? No. There is already enough content thats handed to us.

Would be nice if the existing tabards at least functioned outside of their expansion. Maybe I want some Argent Crusade rep while I’m in Waycrest.

Great idea!

The only problem is that Rep grinds are one of Blizz’s major Time Played Sinks. They will never ever in a million years go along with this. But I wish they would as it would certainly make the game more fun.

that’s an awesome idea, give those tabards an actual use instead of just for cosmetics!

So odd… why am I commenting on this toon? So with the forum switch Blizz just randomly selected one of our toons?

I like the step that they are taking in 8.1 but would love to see account wide reps at this point as well.

They should do something like they did in MoP. Make tokens available to allow alts to gain rep quicker once your main reaches a certain level of rep.

Seems like a fair compromise.

I’ve never appreciated or enjoyed the fact that rep is not account wide. The arguments are specious and smack of the same old school thinking that kept all the other things that are now account wide at bay.

I don’t start a new character and think “oh boy… now I get to grind the exact same reps”.

If it’s different reps, great! I don’t feel bad about that… that’s why I haven’t had any qualms about working on my horde reps now that my alliance main is exalted, but I gave up working on rep on my alts long ago. It’s a waste of time and not fun.

I wanted to switch mains for a long time but never did until they opened up additional things to be account wide (like mounts). The same arguments were given at that time for those things. I didn’t buy it then, and I don’t buy it now. It still hurts to switch mains… and not in the right way.

I enjoy alts because of the variation in how they are played. I enjoy the alternate story lines when there is class or faction-specific story. I don’t enjoy doing the same thing repeatedly and losing progress because of some antiquated sense of “uniqueness”.

I waited years for them to build up the courage to change their minds about things like mounts. I can only sit and hold out hope that fresh blood will show up and convince them to let go of the past. In the meantime, I’ll enjoy playing on my main, but I’ll keep not working on reps on my alts… and try not to be too irritated about it.

I would LOVE account wide rep. I also know they’ll never do it. A compromise would be good. maybe something like after one character earns it all subsequent characters gain rep with that faction at double the rate or something.

More ways to gain rep would be good as well. I liked/hated tabards. liked them because of the rep boost hated it because some of them were hideous and I had to leave them on because I’d forget to put them back on every time a queue popped.

I really liked the Mists system. Since it was optional, those who actually do want to grind everything all over again can, while those of us who get tired of constantly grinding rep get a short cut for our alts.
