Before we get to the new patch, is it possible to get Crests account wide? So many crests sitting on my main character and it would be so nice to move to other characters if the class changes look like something potentially worthwhile to try.

That would be nice. I have to say though, don’t worry about gearing for the new patch at all. There will be a 39 item level jump. You can catch up to even 447 ilvl players by just spamming mythic +5 on that alt the first day. My alts are getting excited to run M0s and get a ton of 437 gear

Since they’re providing crest upgrades in 10.2, but they don’t seem to be account-wide, I think there’s zero chance they’ll do a quick fix to make existing crests account-wide.
They let us upgrade our alts based on the M+ Score our main had achieved in the first patch of SL and then promptly took that away, forcing each alt to “earn” their upgrade breakpoints (which in this expansion represent the four different crests). I don’t see that going away in 10.2, so no chance it will go away in 10.1.7 as a hotfix (since there’s no 10.1.8 announced).
This article may provide clarification for those that think crests will be account-wide in 10.2 (they will not, upgrades will still be bound to that character’s currency tab).

found out you can trade in that dream orb thing you get from the new event for the shards to make a shadowflame wyrm crest but…only seems like the one crest. Then again the vault may help contribute to those crests… maybe…
Since they are moving Crests to the Currency tab, I don’t think we will ever see them as Account Wide.
The only thing that would give the slightest sliver of hope is that a single currency is account wide right now. Those are the Tenders for the trading post.
I agree. i want some raid mog on other classes but dont want to farm keys for crests of i can avoid it
Chest/shoulders/gloves on hunter and legs/gloves on war from heroic set for both.
Got the dream surge gear but now just need to farm crests bleck pug applying as dps
I doubt they will ever be account wide since they are part of end game gear progression and they tend to want the best way to gear an alt to be playing that alt not playing your main.

i’m very much against this in general, but tbh the last 4-6 weeks of the patch it would be a great change. there’s no harm in catching your alts up at the end of a patch imo.
things like this is better for mid patch. last few weeks are generally meaningless because new patch gear is already catch up
