Blizzard won’t do this because some players who returned to WoW after years of haiatus made a brand new account to play classic.
Then as months passed they made effort, called Blizzard etc and got access to their old accounts. They then either pay for 2 accounts or choose not to play one.
Why would they help those people consolidate their characters so they can only pay one account? Follow the money.
The reason it was added back then was to fix a problem that came up when the game started to grow. At the time many people had tried the game at a friends hours or were sharing an account with a sibling. When the ToS was updated to stop account sharing (3 people playing the same char 24/7 to get rank 14) they had to allow players that started a char on a friends account the chance to move that char to their own account. This was a winwin for blizz because it bumped up the sub numbers. That was the reason for account transfers back then.
If you wanted to play multiple characters without paying for multiple accounts, maybe you should’ve leveled them legitimately, without multiboxing, like the rest of us did.
Nothing stopping you from doing that right now in Classic wow, you just start a new account, power level that character, set it up for whatever, maybe gear it, put it up for sale.
I dont see where at any point account to account transfers disable selling characters.
I wanted to transfer the hunter my son is leveling to a new account I was going to pay to open for him. He’s finally figured out the controls to the point we can play together
