Sounds like you’ve sold someone something through trade who used dirty gold. This is a huge risk, and if the person who traded you who used dirty gold, then yes, penalties will be taken towards you as well.
If going to sell anything, best to stick with the Auction House, and not the trade, as you do not know how the other person obtain the gold.
I was thinking that maybe the GM need a cup of coffee as they got a mistake with the template.
