ATVI is a publicly traded corporation. There are state laws and federal regulations requiring the disclosure of data breaches involving personally-identifiable information. Can you explain why a company would risk SEC sanctions, endanger shareholder value, and put corporate officers in serious peril of criminal penalties? To what end?

Queues at the moment are running about 3ish days, Velros. This one is going to need some work. When I first checked, it was locked, now it is banned. They didn’t do nice things with it while they had access.

Did you happen to catch the ticket # when you submitted? I don’t see anything on this account - but if you had to submit it through another, or not logged in, I wouldn’t see it till it was worked and connected.

I submitted a ticket without an account because I do not have access to it

But I got worried that wouldn’t go through, so I made a new account and submitted another ticket.

A three day wait from Blizzard support?.. That is kind of surreal from just a couple of years ago lol.

This isn’t exactly a business as usual time period considering new xpac bugs and blizzard people working from home due to COVID.

Spoke too soon. They just fixed it :^)…

Give it a go now, Velros. As I previously mentioned, there were quite a few shenanigans while they had control.

By the way, I highly recommend adding an authenticator to this.

I see… Sorry for the mistrust!
Is there anyway I can get more information on who hacked my account?
I put an authenticator right away!

Not really, Velros. I can tell from the access patterns this was one of the more major gold outfits.

It’s not usually a single “Who”, from Whoville. This Grinch is a criminal organization that turns hacked accounts into big bucks.

All my characters are horde now and on different servers ;-; wtf
They really did go crazy on my account lol.
I guess my account is still updating… or basically, restoring itself?

I’d reopen your ticket, Velros. There may be more that needs to be done. If you can reopen the original, it will take priority in the queue.

My account is banned? You do realize it IS an active account, right? I was in the middle of playing when the non-hack as you call it happened. As for harassing me for using the word “hacked”, what term would you like me to use?

And yes, there is an open ticket, going on 4 days now with no response.

Bans are typically based upon activity that may have occurred days or even weeks ago. They are practically never about something done within the past hour or day of play.

The email you got announcing the ban had a link for appealing it.

Pardon? That response was not to you, Rocheria.

YOUR account is currently locked, and your current ticket is about 2 and a half days old.

You haven’t been hacked, your account hasn’t been compromised… Your account has been locked because you logged in from someplace different than the game was used to seeing from you (Orlyia mentioned that it looks like you had moved). You should simply need to follow the instructions in the email that you received, usually for a locked account that involves doing a password reset.

Not sure why you are being so aggressive or lashing out towards those helping you. What you are being told is actually good news since it means your account has not been compromised so nothing has been touched.

Yes, it is an active account. You are not being harrassed if someone explains the difference between a hacked account and a locked account. They are two different things.

  • A lock happens when the system detects a login from a new location, computer, or something else that triggers it. You get an email telling you to please go to the real Blizz website and reset your password. That undoes it.

  • A hacked account usually is taken by folks who do terrible things. The password is changed, the email is changed, and after they are done, it is often banned.

Locked is very very different than the message you get if it is hacked.

Go reset your password and it likely fixes it. Putting an Authenticator on the account will help reduce sensitivity and prevent lockout due to location changes and such.
