Accommodation Request: Addressing Dawnbreaker Accessibility and Concerns

I am writing to bring attention to the ongoing issues with the Dawnbreaker dungeon, which have been a significant concern for many players, including myself.

Firstly, the design and mechanics of Dawnbreaker have been causing motion sickness for a considerable number of players. This is not just a minor inconvenience; it affects our ability to enjoy the game and, in some cases, can lead to physical discomfort and health issues. As a result, I have purposefully avoided this dungeon and stopped queueing for random dungeons upon reaching level 80.

With the recent September 5th 2024 hotfixes, Dawnbreaker has now been included in the normal leveling rotation. While I understand the intention behind this change, it has inadvertently made the leveling experience miserable for those of us affected by motion sickness.

I kindly request that you consider one of the following solutions to address this issue:

  1. Restrict Dawnbreaker to Level 80 Only: This would allow players who are more familiar with the game mechanics and potentially less susceptible to motion sickness to tackle this dungeon without a penalty to the levelling experience.
  2. Implement Accessibility Options: Introducing features such as reduced camera movement, adjustable field of view, movement automation (like the new white birds introduced into Nokhudon Hold) or other accessibility settings could significantly alleviate the motion sickness problem and make the dungeon more playable for everyone.

The current situation is quite miserable for those of us affected, and I believe that addressing these concerns would greatly enhance the overall gaming experience for a significant portion of the player base. Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to seeing positive changes in the near future.

Edit: For anyone else affected, I hope this finds you. Someone was kind enough to relay this address accessibility issues: accessibility@blizzard.com

I’ve also sent the contents of this post as an email to the above address. I hope there’s someone there willing to take this to the right people.

I second this request and have sent a message.

I’m not sure if it helps but you can now use steady flight in there supposedly.

Sadly, the issue isn’t entirely dragonriding (at least for me), although that part is not great. But the movement of the ships in the air against the background induces motion sickness. In Grimrail Depot, they added a potion so that the background stopped moving while on the train. Hopefully that helps some people, though!

While steady flight has been an improvement, the motion during combat on any of the three ships still causes me motion sickness.

I have Zofran for nausea, but I would need to know 30 minutes before the dungeon queue pops, which defeats the purpose of it being random.

I’ve tried a few workarounds for minor improvements:

  1. Lowering the view distance to 1 in Game Menu → Options → System → Graphics.
  2. Squinting my eyes to mimic the tunnel vision effect of glaucoma (similar to the motion sickness effect added to Dragon riding last expansion).

I would greatly appreciate it if the three ships could stop moving altogether, and if a flight system similar to the white birds introduced in the Nokhudon Hold dungeon during the pre-patch could be implemented.

I wish there was a way to bring this to the attention of the management or developers for a solution.

There is, but you will not be able to reach them by posting this in Bug Report.

Your best course of action is to post in the Dungeons, Raids and Scenarios forum so that the devs can see your suggestions.
