My world of warcraft has been crashing randomly since the end of last season it gives two different errors one being the most prominent which is “Access Violation”. I’ve taken it to a local repairs and they cant find a single thing wrong with my pc. They stress tested everything but couldnt get these issues to replicate. It happened again today a few times where this issue came up and when i tried to relaunch wow my pc blue screened and restarted / then got stuck in the restarting where even if i sign in it restarts again. I’m at such a loss what to do cause this only happens with wow specifically when I’m doing keys / raid. It always happens randomly during those times.
I’ve reinstalled wow, cleared caches, cleared wtf folders, uninstalled all my addons, scanned and repaired wow, and so many things under the sun where i got tired of it and tried to get pc help from a shop which clearly they couldn’t replicate the issue I’m having since they can exactly go into raid / keys + this happens randomly and once it starts i have to full shutdown my pc for it to stop restarting over and over again.
I’m completely at a loss and so exhausted with fighting this issue. WOW is my favorite game but this destroying my moral.
For me, the problem was related to wow taking up all ram, and then all disc space for virtual ram.
That is, since the update patch to season 2, wow Midnight has a bug where it doesn’t unload, and then requests more ram than you have = crash (doesn’t matter how much you do have, and this doesn’t happen with any other game or version of wow).
In windows search bar, type “advanced system settings”
Since it’s one of the faulty models (13th and 14th gens), I recommend reducing the core speeds to see if it’s the cause of the issue. There could be other things contributing to to these errors, but the CPU is the most common culprit.
