Which is unaffected, since you aren’t required to use steady flight before completing the requirements.
You two are arguing in support of the same thing.
I … cannot disagree lol. However, I think Lio’s point is that Blizzard (Ion) has already taken steps to include accessibility options for sky riding, thereby, at least to some degree, admitting that there are people who do have issues with it. So the argument shouldn’t focus on “do people have issues with sky riding?”
Does this actually prove people have issues with sky riding? No. That would be, like you said, an appeal to authority. Likewise it does not prove that the accessibility options actually remove or even diminish the effects.
his response was pathetic and asinine.
He can work for pathfinder WITHOUT it being required for fligth…which MoST did anyway…got skyriding day one and THEN did PF after…myself included
My god, why is this thread still here? It’s just turned into a screaming match.
This is really simple, people: Blizzard wants us playing their leveling campaign the way they want us playing it. Whether that’s on the ground or with the flight style they consider to be more immersive. That is why Pathfinder exists: to go through the campaign their ways for how they want us playing. After that, they don’t care what we do. Because we finished the campaign their way.
And yes, they consider dynamic flying more immersive. Go read/watch all the interviews and whatnot from before DF launched.
Dynamic flying is their compromise to fully grounding us.
Us disabled folks have options. This expansion was easy to get around compared to DF. Quests had options to let the game fly for us. We still have passenger mode. Those airships were swank. They made sure we could get around. We did the campaign their way with their preferred methods.
That’s all there is to it. Our feelings are irrelevant. What we find immersive is irrelevant. This is their game and it’s how they want it played.
Stop making us disabled folks look bad and using us as your scapegoat for your tantrums over static flying. This thread is embarrassing with how many tantrums I’ve seen and all the screaming.
Do it their way or quit playing. I don’t really care anymore. But this thread went from nonsensical to just downright toxic as hell.
Honestly, normal flight should have been baseline. If you had to complete Pathfinder for a flying reward, that reward should have been dragonflight. I prefer dragonflight for most things but think that “earning” steady flight is just as asinine as not letting us fly at all.
Its irrelevant whether ion made moves to make gliding more accessible.
The argument is that pathfinding should never have existed. full stop.
Both the argument that pathfinder is easy to do, AND that ion made efforts to increase the accessibility of gliding just furthers the original argument, they don’t actually counter it. If pathfinder is easy to do and “only takes a couple hours” then its functionally irrelevant. If Ion recognized that there are accessibility issues with gliding that do not exist with flying, again, this just lends to the OPs argument, it doesnt fight against it.
The only reason gliding exists at all is because Ion is vindictive and petty. Instead of making flying+ where they could have made flying overall more fun and enjoyable, they had to create a whole separate system that was as close to flying as possible without actually being flying JUST BECAUSE.
Which is why flying is restricted and gliding is not.
