In challenging content, specifically Mythic+ dungeons at levels above 28, Evokers often struggle with survivability. Fyrakk’s Tainted Rageheart has emerged as a potentially best-in-slot (BiS) trinket for Augmentation Evokers aiming to compete for top rankings.
However, there’s a significant accessibility issue: this trinket is not available to Evokers either through raid drops or the Great Vault. Its acquisition is currently limited to Tanks, which raises an important question regarding game balance and fairness.
This situation leaves DPS,Healer and Evokers, who might benefit greatly from this trinket, with only one option: to purchase it from Tanks. The core of the issue is that although Fyrakk’s Tainted Rageheart is highly beneficial for Evokers, it’s not designated for any Evoker specialization in the game.
Is this a fair approach to gear distribution, especially for high-level content?
the problem lies in an item being tagged as BIS for a spec for which it isn’t on their loot table. blizz should never design items in this manner.
as a guardian druid, last expansion the 2h str weap was my BIS… how stupid is that? so I can relate to your situation, but I don’t think the solution is to make the items available to evokers, the solution is that the item shouldn’t be desireable by classes for which its not on their loot table.
I see where it’s a bummer, but honestly it should just be a tank role trinket. Passing it off to others to increase survival in endless mode is probably not its intended purpose.
To be fair though, if you’re playing at that level you’re more than likely downing heroic or mythic fyrakk. You can ask guild for a trade to push later in the season with a static group OR lead a heroic pug and put it in reserve - if it’s just that good for y’all.
This is only happening because of how Aug is designed, that’s not a contender for really any other spec.
Yeah other than an absorb effect. I don’t see why this is “tank trinket”. The fact it does damage passively in combat is in itself a DPS wet dream the rest is a huge bonus…
Meanwhile the DPS trinket you can get from Fyrakk for Aug is pretty much vendor trash.
I think blizzard needs to hire a new loot designator…
totally agreed my brother. i main MW and suffer the same thing in regards to belor’relos trinket. no mw spec is elligible for it despite it being amazing. i’m after the same trinket the thread is about as well but obviously i’m elligible in brew
It’s a tank trinket because you get an absorb shield. There are many more trinkets in the game that will increase your dps much more than this. Blizzard thinks you should not be using defensive trinkets unless you a tank.
It’s also really important to note that we’re talking about extreme edge cases here. This item only gains real value at the highest levels of Mythic +. Anything in the +28 and above range is well beyond anything I think Blizzard can reasonably be expected to balance and design for, and it’s not been uncommon for trinkets/items that are not droppable for certain specs/classes to be considered BiS.
All this to say, if you’re going to be pushing the highest keys you can, you should probably expect to have to do some annoying stuff to achieve that.
You are right, but it is unreasonable to obtain it only by asking and buying it from others. If any gears is applicable, it needs a reasonable way to obtain it, rather than begging or spending money. such as Leaf of the Ancient Protectors
To me the only viable solution here is to have vendor akin to what we had during Season 4 of Shadowlands. Personally I quite like the idea of having a vendor added in the .5 patch that allows player the choice of 3 whatever gear that want from the raid.
In my eyes there is no harm in giving people access to stuff so long as they earn the currency to purchase it.
