Having the same Access Violation crashing as so many other people. Just started this week, and is constant. I’ve tried every single fix that anyone has posted, and none have worked for me except for disabling “Async Resource Creation” in the graphics options. My problem with this is that it literally halves my fps if not more, which makes the game almost unplayable when i’m trying to do things like high keys or mythic raid. Since I have it narrowed down to an option in game, can anyone think of what might cause that specific option to cause this error? I tried making a ticket with blizzard but of course that went no where. If you’d like more info about my hardware etc ask below, as well as the steps i’ve already taken, but rest assured i’ve tried damn near everything.
Blizzard doesn’t have PC technicians available via ticket, so they can’t troubleshoot things on your local machine.
Most Access Violations are popping up due to the Intel issue acknowledged on the manufacturer’s site.
Other causes can be drivers (a recent nVidia driver is causing issues), overclocked RAM becoming unstable, or a power issue.
Correct me if im wrong, but i thought that intel acknowledged that issue last year, and most motherboard manufacturers put out bios updates that helped fix those CPU’s from drawing to much power. I too had an issue with my old 13900k for that reason. But after gigabyte put put their bios update to fix that issue, i upgraded to a 14900k. And i havent had it for very long. I have also tried rolling back to nvidias last few driver updates, using ddu, to no avail on either one. I went back to 572.70 and .60, as i saw a lot of people say that .60 worked for them. However this did not fix the issue for me. I also rolled back the most recent windows updates, changed settings in my bios, and much more to no avail.
They did, but most of those CPUs had already run outside of the intended specs both at the factories where they were built and in the homes of customers.
Agreed, however this is not the case for me, at least for the home portion. I cant speak for the factory portion, but I highly doubt they’re being run long enough to degrade to the state that were referring to in the factory alone. So assuming that this isnt the case, and knowing all the fixes havent worked for me, is there anything else you can think of that i might be able to try? or is there a way to get this issue acknowledged by blizzard? because this just stared not only for me, but for many other people this week specifically.
Posting here is enough to make them aware. They don’t have techs posting in this forum anymore, but other staff will respond if they need more info.
Okay cool, i’m not dismissing the cpu as a possibility btw. I’m actually going to try capping the clock speed and see if I see improvement. It would be very saddening to learn that I have another degraded cpu if that ends up being the case, but we shall see.
Yeah, I’m not saying it’s for sure the problem either. Hopefully, it’s just a bad driver or something.
I wish people would quit assuming that all access violations errors are intel problems, there are posts in this forums getting the same error on AMD platforms.
If you’re a 13th/14th gen intel and are getting a warning from the game or launcher, then that is a narrow known problem, with a diagnostic path thay could onclude a warranty replacement part.
Op mentioned using the intel build, might want to start a different thread, and go over the trouble shooting guide.
If not then it’s a goal to hopefully narrow ir down.
Thanks for providing us a solution OP. I alse have many crash after patch 11.1, cause it forced me to update my BIOS. I see many gamer have this problem recently, and believe our PC in good condition.
It’s like you didn’t even read my reply where I specifically said:
