Access to Upper Karazhan

Is there really no access to the Upper Karazhan portion of the season 4 dungeons without a key? Having never done them before I like to be able to solo run them before going in and messing up someone’s key. Usually do this with LFG but yeah that’s not an option. I’m not about to run that cluster F@k of a raid I’ll spend hours getting lost in.

Probably not the first thing they thought about given that it was a raid in Legion right?

It was a Megadungeon and then M+ in Legion. It was a raid in TBC.

Yes raid entrance is on the bottom and the dungeon entrance is on the bridge, but the dung entrance only takes you to lower karazhan. Unless you have a key M+ Key for upper you can’t get to it which is stupid.

Uh you can do the mega dungeon by itself still.

They dont prevent you from getting to upper as just as a Plain old mythic.

You just have to clear lower first to get upper to open I believe for rp to happen.

But you can still do upper by going to the port for the m+ dungeon

It’ll take you maybe 10min to clear Lower Kara to reach Upper. Most of that will be running.

So for keys it’s separated but in the dungeon it’s all together. To access up the upper half of Karazhan you have to at least kill moroes and get his rusty key. That will open the door to upper Karazhan.

The Burning Crusade version still exists. It’s the front door. The Legion update is up in the tower there

You aren’t going to get a viable learning experience, I’m afraid.

You need to run low keys where stuff actually can and will hit you. You can read any online guide and learn basic strats better than just going in and standing still. Part of the feedback model relies on things actually happening to you.

But in any event, go to the front door of the tower and then fly up and circle around to the right and you’ll find a side path. Once inside, you are effectively at the middle of the tower which is the start of the legion remake of Kara. You’re gonna go forward which will take you down and clear stuff. Once the stuff below is dead, then you’ll need to backtrack and go up from where you started. It’s wonky and kind of dumb, but that’s just how it is.

I know where the dung entrance is on the bridge but thats only for lower. You can run that all the way up to the huntsman fight and thats it on M0.

I’m not worried about being hit, or mechanics. I need to visually see the place, trash locations, turns the actual route, etc. Maps are useless in a non-linear dung and you can only learn so much from online guides.

The point being you can’t run Upper as a M0, There is no direct entrance, there is no NPC to port you to Upper like in Mechagon or Taz. Excuses and opinions aside that fact still remains. If Bliz is going to put a Dung into the M+ rotation it needs to be directly accessible.

Well, technically, you can get to Upper Kara if you solo Lower Kara.
