I have seen posters on the forums abusing the automated report feature. Just recently I had a post removed due to being reported as a “real life threat”. I may be in the wrong place but I really want to dispute this, as its clearly not. If I’m in the wrong area please feel free to direct me to the correct area.

If the post was removed, then there is no point appealing for a post being removed. If moderators took action against the post, then nobody abused the reporting of the post.
How ever, there is nothing anyone can do, and even posting it inside the Website Bug Report won’t help.
Fair, I’m not appealing for the post that was removed to be reinstated. I just want clarification on whether it’s acceptable to just report any post I don’t like as a “real life threat” and watch it get removed.
I would love to post a screen of the post so everyone can see just how ridiculous it is that this was reported and removed but I’m not sure if that breaks any rules and don’t want to purposely break TOS.

Probably not, and if forum participants make a habit of provably spurious reports they can lose forum privileges. But it would take an extended pattern over time of doing so, because a single report could be a simple misunderstanding. (Actual ill intentions need to be demonstrated by repeated behavior).
If the thread was taken down, it wasn’t because of a spurious mis-report. More likely, the moderators decided the thread was unsalvageable.
If the original post was addressing the developers and advocating for some specific change, it would have succeeded already. The fact that the thread got removed from public visibility wouldn’t keep the Community Managers from seeing it and forwarding any suggestions, questions, or complaints to the developers as appropriate.
Yes the report feature in general is abused, not only in forums, but the game as well
