so if you log in as tank, then swap to DPS, you likely get a lot of crying, as we see some times in here.
BUT…if you log in as tank on one account, and say…DPS DH on a second account…then you bail on the tank account so everyone is cursing at the tank, now you can tank as DPS and be the hero of the story. lol.
about 99% positive another player did it in a run a bit ago.
I thought something was kinda screwy, but when I saw the DH player pretty much trying to tank with the DPS spec, it dawned on me he probably also owns the account the tank was on.
That seems like a lot of effort to gain brownie points with people that will never be seen again.
About the only benefit I can see is getting their DPS character in quicker, though it also begs the question… Why not just queue it as tank, if you’re happy to tank?
well, avoiding the hate, which I fully understand.
There were just a couple recent threads about tanks swapping to DPS…that brings the hate from some players…but doing it this way, the player gets to be the hero.
The run went well, between him and my twinking any way it was a breeze…the four of us had a fine time.
Just got me thinking it was an intelligent way to get around the hate thing.
I think ive seen this before too…one character was left parked at the gate, then 2 others were clearly trying to 2 box (this was after the rules change on using automation for multiboxing).
We asked about the one sitting at the start…“its my wife, she’ll be back soon”…but no one ever came back, lol.
Doesnt bother me as long as its going ok and not causing wipes and wasted time.
The only thing I could work out with this that makes any sense, would be to use a 2nd account with a tank to list your dps character’s key with a tank in the group, find a healer, and then drop the tank and hope the healer stays.
But doing this in queued content just so your dps can switch to tank and “be the hero” is therapy needed level of wierd.
If thats what he did, still open for discussion, I dont see much problem if he knew he could easily handle the run but didnt want to deal with players screeching at him for not being in tank spec…like we’ve seen in threads in here.
Requires a 2nd account, which means it costs money to pull it off. Better to convert that $65+ into tokens, and with that fat stack of gold you can buy a lot of sweet timed +10s. Or skip pugging altogether and buy whatever your end goal is.
There’s always a screeching minority on the forums. I’ve never seen anyone in game care if the tank flips to dps for a timewalking or whatever, so long as they have it handled. One of my favorites is a monk flipping to mistweaver and just spinning crane kicking through the entire dungeon at ludacris speed.
Ive seen DKs swapping to unholy or frost get chewed out and kicked.
dont think ive seen a DH get nagged at about it yet. I think DHs get so far ahead of the group that everyones more paying attention to catching up than complaining about anything else.
Never seen a druid or warrior or paladin swap out that I can remember off hand.
Ok i guess. Physically at least. Mentally i am very drained. The doctors just did their monday morning rounds and still didnt give me the ok to go home yet. Their boss has to come see me and check everything out. Which may be this morning, but he’s in theatre. So who exactly knows when? At this point i get nothing from being in hospital. They change my dressing every day and that’s it. All i get is bad food, bad sleep, and discomfort from this awful bed.
