Absolute must have addons

Hey guys, can you all suggest me which addons are absolute must-haves for:

  1. Leveling Alts
  2. World quest/contents at max level
  3. Raid
  4. M+
  5. PvP
  6. Other really useful addons that make life easier (addon that shows ilvl, copying trade chat link etc.)

Thanks much appreciated.

You asked for it, so here comes my shameless self-promotion:

Regarding 1: https://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info24849-BagnonRequiredLevel.html This Bagnon plugin lets you see immediately, what (skill) level is required before an alt can use a certain item.

Regarding 6: https://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info24467-BagnonItemLevel.html (No self-promotion here!) This Bagnon plugin shows you the item level.

Other than that:

Do the above show my and others ilvl when I inspect them?

Hm, I think BagnonItemLevel only works for items in your bags and bank. But I have not tried it.

well for leveling alts…i usually make tanks and just dungeon run. for that i use

threatplates…name plates are red when you dont have threat and green when you do

Deadly boss mods if its later levels like legion and after as i have not done as many dungeons in those xpacs

omen threat meter to basically see how far ahead i am from the next person in threat

and tankaddon…dont know if you ever used tauntmaster2 but it gives a list of people in the dungeon and you can click on the name of the other person and it will use the taunt…its ok but i wish i had tauntmaster2 back.

for world quests i use world quest tracker…it lets you click horde or alliance, lets you see gear or gold or w/e is offered on the map. I use with tomtom to click on a wq and tomtom points to it.

i dont raid but if i did i would use deadly boss mods and omen and threatplates i suppose.

i dont do mythics either but id use the above again if i did…i dunno theres more to mythics than just these addons i mention

i dont pvp so i dont know

as for useful addons
bagon…one window insted of multiple

wholly and grail for questing if yo uwant to see where quests are located or atleast give you an option to lookup something you want to work on so you can get to unlocking the quest be it lead in or level

molinari for disenchanting…hold control and then click item to d/e it

paste for things for macros thats longer than 255 characters

farmhud…basically takes the mini map and puts in the middle of your screen to go farm mining and herbs

i pay for dugi guides…about 7 dollars a month for questing…gives a set path for doing quests in an area

wow-pro for the same thing just not as polished
tomtom goes with wow-pro

tomtom is an arrow when its fed a waypoint to point where to go

i also use some type of auto seller for grey items and auto quest turn in for quests

i just got into tradeskillmaster for ah stuff…i use it ot just mass list things.

routes for showing a line to the next node in an area if you are mining or herbing…this is used with gathermate2 and gathermate2_data…havent used it in a while…use to use it with farmhud from earlier so i dont have to look in the corner of my screen to see where the line is taking me.

some type of garrison follower addon…there are many…i still dink with garrisons.

thats about it i think…

oh and gnome sequencer enhanced…i am lazy and dont enjoy mashing buttons…theres a website that goes with it https:// wowlazymacros
com/

you can put the website together,i assign the macro to a mouse wheel and jut play like that,

you type in game /gse
a window pops up and you hit import
you copy and paste off that website into that import box and click ahh import or maybe complete…the buttons escape me atm then drag the icon to the action bar and set your talents according to that macro.

the macros off the site will look like scrambled letters. like

sdkjfhhsdfowieytn432lsnmor282sn98am2938rm298mr9r8hm82rmh298r2ah9arh9rhm29r8ms2t948hms298shqhspqs834hpm3t4mhp3mhp3mpgx3mhg3h89g34h8qm3px3pm9gq3mhpg3hpmg3hpg5p94w85g4hg3qp3284qq3phf…

thats normal you would copy whats posted into the addon.

Quick question about this addon. Does it taunt the mob that has aggro on the party member, or the mob that the party member has targeted?

Usually players get aggroed by mobs that they don’t necessarily have targeted, so this would cause you to taunt the wrong mobs.

My addon suggestion: Healium

Almost every class has skills or talents that can be cast on party members, and this addon gives you a nice interface where you can place spells to be cast on friendly units right next to their color coded name and HP bar.

Essential for healers, but also any class with a dispel (it will notify you if there is something you can dispel on someone), or for any kind of buff or battle res it is extremely useful. It also has a range check built in for every skill button so you can see at a glance if it’s castable.

ive only used it a handful of times i assume whatever has threat against the person

Well the reason why I ask is because I don’t think it’s possible to automatically target a mob like that. You can only cast against the targettarget.

Correct.

Might have been possible in Vanilla or when Paladins taunted friendly targets but it’s not a thing these days.

  1. Azeroth auto pilot
  2. WQL (World quest list)
  3. Weakaura / bigwigs or DBM
  4. Same as 3
  5. No idea, I don’t do PVP, but I’ve heard good things about Battlegroundtargets
  6. Elvui (With shadow & light if you’re a tweaker) and TradeSkillMaster.

If you’re always running around in WM on your low-level alts, then I would suggest using Spy. (And I also recommend using Altoholic)

If you’ve ever tried to inspect someone and they move away from you before you’re done: Examiner
