About tusks

So, any reason for why tusks of mannoroth have such a low drop rate compared to other hidden mogs like taeshalach, scythe of the unmaker, etc? Why not make it like 1-2% like the others?

It is roughly 1%.

It is 0.02% :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
*edit. Just looked at wowhead and it says its on a 0.26% drop rate

There’s no way it’s even 1%. Far too many people have runs in the THOUSANDS and still no drop. A 1% drop rate would see MOST people getting it in less than 100.

You either have trolls bragging about how they got it less than 10, or everyone else who is clocking 1000-3000.

As to why? Because it’s the new Blizzard shte dynamic. Orc Warrior is highly desirable/well represented, and the Tusks are like the PINNACLE of xmog for an Orc Warrior. And because it’s popular, they make it stupidly rare.

Look how many DHs work their assets off for the full xmog of Warglaives. Same-same.

Yeah the drop chance is definitely below 1%

lost it in soO main raid to a friends/family alt

rough life

No, it isn’t. If you’re going by a WoWhead droprate, those stats are unbelievably screwy since the difficulties were changed after MoP.

they supposed to be super liit and rare. Waht’s the problem?

This is a tinfoil hat conspiracy theory but hear me out here.

The answer is simple, RNGesus hates plate wearers.

I could easily argue this point, but it seems anyone that brings it up just repeats “It’s ok to have rare things” with their fingers jammed so far in their ears, it’s not worth trying to discuss things rationally.

So I’ll just wait here

That is not how that stat works at all
1% means an AVERAGE of 1 in 100. You can still go 5000 runs without it because you just didn’t get lucky.

That’s not how drop percentage works though.

That word
 “most”
try not to ignore it next time.

That word is actually the problematic part. It’s wrong.

It is though. I get the RNG thing, I’d rather it be locked behind some nearly impossible mechanical challenge so only a few elite plate wearer can use, but RNG is next best to keep it rare and exceptional. IMO should be removed from game after XPAC to reward those who killed it on time.

Anyone arguing that needs to understand stats better.

While YOU ARE RIGHT

that it is POSSIBLE to run 5000 or even ten million runs on a 1% drop rate and still not get it

that isn’t LIKELY to happen. Because
 math > you.

MOST will get it in less than 100. Because
that’s how it works. That doesn’t happen with Tusks
because the drop rate is SUBSTANTIALLY less than 1%.

Is that still true? Doesn’t it obey “legacy loot rules” now? Which means anyone could get it?

No it’s not. Every time you step in the raid there is a 1% chance x item will drop. This drop percentage is unaffected by the number of runs.
